Holes for Heroes

Pegasus Rising is proud to announce that we have been selected as a beneficiary for this year's Holes for Heroes golf tournament.
This is a 100% non-profit and all volunteer event which has raised almost $700,000 to date and 100% of the net profits goes to its beneficiaries. Please help support this wonderful event by clicking here and participating in this event.

2014 MILESTONES

2014 was a milestone year for Pegasus Rising in three significant respects.
First, Pegasus Rising celebrated its 5th anniversary as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non profit organization. Since Pegasus started its therapeutic programs in the fall of 2009, over 4,500 participants have entered our paddocks to experience our equine based therapeutic sessions. We are honored and humbled that our herd has been able to help so many veterans and their families heal and reintegrate into their civilian and family lives.
Our second milestone event occurred on Sunday May 4, 2014 in Manhattan when our CEO, Gary Adler, presented on the benefits of equine therapy for PTSD and TBI at the American Psychiatric Association's 167th annual conference. Pegasus was invited to participate on a panel of three speakers which also included mental health professionals who employ both art and music as therapeutic tools in order to assist our returning combat veterans with PTSD and/or TBI.
Our third milestone event occurred on August 26, 2014 when we relocated from our original Rancho Santa Fe location to The Escondido Equestrian Center for Natural Horsemanship which is located in the Lake Wohlford Escondido area. Our sincere appreciation to Joan Layte for her generosity and support in providing Pegasus with its new home!

DEL MAR/SOLANA BEACH ROTARY VISITS PEGASUS RISING

On January 17, 2015 Pegasus Rising started the new year off on the right foot as our herd hosted a special session with our Veterans Village of San Diego veterans and a group of Del Mar/Solana Beach Rotary Club members who support Pegasus Rising.
What a wonderful day to witness our donors and veterans commingling with the herd with smiles and positive energy in abundance! Having our veterans open themselves up to trust and share space with complete strangers is a testament to our herd's special healing powers and Pegasus is truly grateful to have facilitated the event.

Closing Thoughts from Our President |
It has been over five and a half years since I joined as a Pegasus volunteer in June, 2009 to run this wonderful project!
While 2014 was indeed a milestone year, our transition to a new location was quite demanding in terms of time and resources. We are proud to be able to continue to serve so many while remaining an all volunteer run project as no one is being paid for their time spent volunteering!
Please do everything you can to spread the word about our upcoming 2015 Estate Sale & Holes for Heroes events in order to help us with donations. If we are to continue to provide our services, we must increase our fundraising efforts as the public's monetary donations are essential as we rely solely on the generosity of our donors to keep our project on course.
Please find it in your hearts to continue to donate money to our worthy cause so we can help our special herd "pay it forward" and aid our returning combat veterans in healing and reintegrating into their civilian lives.
