The One Health Summit is 9 days away. If you haven't already done so, please RSVP your attendance or regrets so that we can be sure all attendees have a seat at the table.

Date: Thursday February 21, 2013
Time: 3:00pm to 5:00pm
Location: London Convention Centre
The first hour of the meeting will be:
- an overview of One Health and the structure of the public health system in Ontario
- an overview of what the OAVT is, and the role of veterinary technicians within the veterinary community (for the benefit of the health units)
We will then have break-out sessions for the second hour, during which RVT volunteers will ideally have an opportunity to meet with their respective health unit(s) for a meet and greet session, and discuss strategies for regular communication and information sharing over the next 3-6 months.
For the break out sessions, if you are able to come prepared with:
- information on the vector-borne diseases and/or zoonotic disease concerns in your region
- ideas on how you see RVTs working within your region to support greater communication between public health and veterinary health
- initiatives that you feel you would like to see implemented in your region
- any examples of materials that you are distributing through your workplace to educate your clients and the public on zoontic and vector-borne disease
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Kirsti Clarida at kirsti@oavt.org at anytime.
