AWDF USA, a founding partner in Giving Tuesday, a national day of giving, is convening a global town hall meeting to discuss the latest trends and solutions to the Global African Women's Health Crisis, affecting African women, their communities and allies on the continent and worldwide. A kickoff for the 2013 season of giving, this town hall will raise awareness and support to address African maternal and other health challenges. During this unique conversation you will: Learn the New Trends Hear from experts in African women's health issues, including the maternal health crisis, hypertension, heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Understand Emerging Challenges and Leading Practices Dr. Michelle Holmes of Harvard University will present her research findings about the escalating increase in chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes throughout Africa. Social innovators from public health, advocacy, and many other fields will present effective solutions to African women's health. Share Your Stories and Ideas AWDF USA donors, volunteers and others will share their stories and recommendations for an Action Agenda to address the global African women's health crisis.
