HOOPS FOR THE HUNGRY
|
Mark your calendars for February 9th 2013. That's the day that Our Daily Bread's famed basketball team, The Hungry Dunkers meet The Harlem Ambassadors in a rematch. According to reports, the last meeting of these teams was rumored to have been extremely unfair due to some of their players dribbling too much, running too fast and making too many baskets. We understand, too, that improper time keeping took place during the event. The only comments we can get from the Dunkers coaches and managers is, "We'll get 'em next time, y'all hear!" ...and that opportunity is around the corner.See your friends, neighbors and civic leaders match their basketball skills and wits against the internationally acclaimed team, The Harlem Ambassadors. Come see and enjoy high flying slam dunks, dazzling ball handling, tricks and hilarious comedy routines. This special event, Hoops for the Hungry, promises to be an evening of family fun and is an opportunity to raise needed funds to support Our Daily Bread. The contest is being held at Denton High School Gym, at 5:00 pm, on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Tickets are now available for $10.00 with no charge for children 5 or under and can be purchased from Katie at the Our Daily Bread Program Coordinator Desk Mon-Friday, 10:00 -1:30. Tickets are also available on-line at ourdailybreaddenton.org (click on donations) for credit card purchase and will call pick-up. All advisory board members of Our Daily Bread also have tickets available for cash purchase.

The last meeting of these teams was a fun filled event for all, players and audience.
