Valley County Health System's 4th Annual Health Fair - Thursday June 28 from 6-9 am at Valley County Health System in Ord will include lab tests, blood pressure checks and breakfast.  In addition, many organizations and businesses will have displays.

 

Health fair will offer convenient lab tests at greatly reduced prices. These include a Health Screen and PSA test. 

The Health Screen includes Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, Complete Blood Count, Thyroid, Cholesterol & Triglycerides and this test will be offered for only $35.  The PSA is a Prostate cancer screening recommended for males over the age of 50 and this test is only $15. 

 

Pre-registration is encouraged and it's easy - go online to http://www.valleycountyhealthsystem.org/events/register, pick up a form at the hospital registration desk or at any Valley County bank. Transportation available within the city limits of Ord by calling 728-5581.

Nancy Foster

ORD - Nancy Foster, RN, has joined Valley County Health System as the new Director of Nursing at Valley View Living Center on May 14.

 

Foster was raised in Norfolk, and lived in Valentine for 20 years. She earned her RN degree from Mid-Plains Community College, in North Platte. She has been an RN since 1994. Her previous position was with Grandview Manor in Campbell, NE as the Director of Nursing (DON). Prior to that, Foster worked as DON at Kearney Co Health Services. Foster joins us with 10 years of DON experience.

 

Foster moved to Ord with her significant other David, of 10 years. She has 5 children and 15 grandchildren. Foster's hobbies include reading and needlework. "I am really looking forward to meeting and helping the residents of Valley View Living Center," she said.

Freeman Named  Employee of the Quarter

ORD - Linda Freeman has been named Employee of the Quarter at Valley County Health System for the 3rd Quarter of the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

 

In a letter nominating Freeman for the honor, a co-worker explained how professional she always is and how she always tries her very best to get all claims processed in a timely manner. "Linda is willing to stay late, come early, and work through her lunch to help out and she always respects others input".

 

Linda Freeman started at Dr. Martin's Clinic as a transcriptionist in 1986, she earned her coding certification after she started at the hospital in August of 2001. She is now the Clinic Coder/Biller at VCHS. We are truly blessed to have her on our team.

 

 




ORD - Catina Psota and Danielle Proskocil have both accepted director positions at Valley County Health System.

 

Catina has been promoted to Director of Clinics. Previously,Catina Psota she worked as the Medical Clinic Manager for Valley County Health System. She is now responsible for managing all aspects of the medical and specialty clinics.

 

Catina began at VCHS in January of 2011. She lives in rural North Loup with her husband Tony and their three children; Cali: 15, Joseph: 12 and Jaden: 3.

 

Danielle has been promoted to Director of Human Resources. She previously, worked as the Human Resource Coordinator. She is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR).danielle proskocil

 

Danielle began at VCHS in December of 2003. She lives in Ord with her husband Branden and their daughter, Kinley.

Valley County Health System's Hospice is sponsoring a Cancer Support Group for anyone diagnosed with cancer and their families. The first meeting will be held on Thursday, May 17th from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Ord Methodist Church's conference room. Facilitators of this group will include cancer survivors.
