Storage Solutions

Consider a locking medicine cabinet fitted into a drawer or cabinet for safety. This one is by CosmeticRX.com.

Look for stacking shelf units to utilize wasted space in base cabinets under the sink.

Visit a home supply store for inexpensive storage and organizing products.
Rev-A-Shelf has solutions to many of the organizational challenges in your bathroom. This pullout has a metal bin for a hair dryer and a curling iron and room for a beauty shop of products underneath.
Remember if you can't find it we can build it in our Custom Cabinet Shop.

Continue Your Remodel Progress With De-cluttering Day Two.

If you haven't started with your de-cluttering, pull out the previous newsletter Bath Remodel Series-101 and begin.
  1. Remove duplicates and all those hotel samples you've been saving. Do you really need four bottles of lotion or six hair brushes? Keep one or two of the best and get rid of the rest. Donate the soap and shampoo samples to a shelter.
  2. Throw out expired items like old medications, and makeup and hair products that didn't work. Lotions, sunscreen, hand creams and other beauty products can go bad. Check to see if yours have expired or smell funny and toss them out.
  3. Put like-items together. Put first aid items, hair care products and makeup in their own bins or baskets and store them close to where you use them the most, but preferably out of sight.
  4. Replace mismatched & shabby towels. For a small investment you can get a fresh look with new towels, and you won't have to replace them for another 20 years. White towels can give your bath a 'spa feel' and they can be bleached to always look good. Fold all towels neatly and make sure you remove the old towels to free up cabinet space-put them in your cleaning cabinet or give to charity. See How to Fold a Towel.
  5. Easily reach items in the back of cabinets by adding pull-out drawers or trays in base cabinets and tiered shelves in upper cabinets. The trays can be permanently installed or they can be removable baskets or bins.
  6. Organize your makeup in a drawer with bamboo or plastic utensil trays or in a beautiful box on your dressing table.
  7. Get shampoo & conditioner bottles off the shower floor and the sides of the tub with a shelf that hangs from the shower head or a corner shelf that suctions to the wall.
