DACC Parents and Families -

We would like to wish a heartfelt congratulations to all of our seniors who have completed their senior year and graduated from high school. We are very excited to see what the future holds for them.

At the same time, the upcoming school year holds endless possibilities for our new and returning students. While our teaching staff won't be teaching high school classes over the summer, they will be busy renewing industry certifications, attending classes, and researching new teaching methods - all to make sure they are continuously offering an outstanding educational experience for our DACC students.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy summer vacation!

DACC Students Support Senior Citizens Prom

High school students aren't the only ones attending prom in the spring. SourcePoint, a Delaware County agency serving adults age 55 and older, hosts a prom every year. A big thanks goes out to our Landscaping students for providing the corsages and boutonnieres.

Additionally, we'd like to thank Abby Brown and Sophia Strickland from our Digital Design program for attending the prom to take photos. They stayed for the entire evening to make sure they captured posed and candid photos of the attendees. What a great way to use their skills to give back to the community.

A true collaboration takes place to make sure our students receive such a great educational experience. Students were also honored for their hard work and dedication throughout the school year.

CTSO Update

We're wrapping up another year of competitions for our Career Technical Student Organizations and we couldn't be more proud of how our students did. Here's a quick recap:

Just a few weeks ago, students from the Digital Design program competed at the national Business Professionals of America competition. To get there, they had to compete locally, regionally, and take first place at the state competition. Everyone finished in the top 10 in the nation, which is an outstanding accomplishment. View their individual placements on our web site.

SkillsUSA students took top honors at the state competition in April and will be competing nationally later this summer. See the state results and the list of those who will compete nationally on our web site. We wish them the best of luck!

In March Joe Schultz and Colton Garrison took 1st place at the statewide FFA Agricultural Industrial Diagnostics Systems competition and were awarded $6,000 each. Read more about their competition on our web site.

Wildlife & Resource Management students took first place at the recent Regional Envirothon competition. Congratulations Jens Pagialunga, Coleton Chicotel, Chris Jones, Ryan Miller and Phil Hall. Good luck to them as they compete at the state level in June!

Our students did well in FCCLA as well. Kallie Foreman, Jessica Blacker, and Caitlyn Niemela all took first place at the state competition in their respective categories. Kallie competed in Language and Literacy; Jessica competed in Specific Task Assessment; Caitlyn competed in Curriculum Unit Development. Ashley Evans claimed second place at the state competition in Language and Literacy.
