For those of you who are returning for another school year with us, our district calendar is now available on the DACC web site. This will give you important dates that have already been locked in, such as the first day of school and when the building will be closed.

DACC Staff, Student Honored for Lifesaving Actions
Earlier this month, one of our students experienced a medical emergency. We are very grateful that David Gilliam, Captain Dan Huffman, Deputy Dan Yarnell, Adult Ed Fire Instructor PJ Titus, & Fire Student Austin Walker were on the scene & acted quickly. Their swift actions played a large role in the survival of this student before EMS arrived. These gentlemen were all recognized this morning by the Delaware County Commissioners & EMS.

Auto Students Explore Alternative Fuel
Our DACC staff and students are taking their curriculum beyond what's required of them and exploring alternative fuels. What a great example of an instructor who is willing to give his students what they need to be successful and students who are willing to put in the extra time and effort to achieve their goals.

Wildlife & Resource Management Students Take Gold
Wildlife & Resource Management students took FIRST place at the recent Regional Envirothon competition. Congratulations Jens Pagialunga, Coleton Chicotel, Chris Jones, Ryan Miller and Phil Hall!

2015 National Technical Honor Society
The 2015 National Technical Honor Society students were honored on April 23rd. In order to be considered for this honor, these students have maintained high academic grades, they solicited recommendations, and submitted essays. Congratulations to all!

Congratulations to the 2015 Career Passport Winners!
On May 1st, seven area students were awarded at the annual Delaware County Career Passport Recognition Breakfast. Each student receives a $250 cash award from their sponsoring organization and a plaque from the Delaware County Career Development Program.
Kayla Gilbert represented DACC and was sponsored by Employment Professionals.

Dana Turtle Visits DACC
Fans of Dana Turtle will enjoy watching him race our Fire students in the Get-It-On Drill. Needless to say, they showed him how it's done and did a great job of sharing on live TV what a great educational option DACC can be for area students.

FFA Banquet
On March 12th, the DACC FFA Chapter held the annual FFA Banquet to honor those who have supported the program and contributed to it's success.

Explorers Club Win States Competition
Congratulations to the Delaware County Explorers Post 2100 for bringing home multiple awards from the 2015 Law Enforcement Explorer Competition last weekend in Oberlin, Ohio! Awards include: 1st and 3rd place (two teams) in Crisis Intervention; and 2nd place in Crime Scene Investigation.
While this is a program through the Delaware County Sheriff's Department, many DACC Law Enforcement students participate. In fact, all but one of the pictured students is a DACC student or alumnus.

ECE Preschoolers Raise Money for St. Jude
The Early Childhood Education Preschool students held their annual Trike-A-Thon earlier this month to raise money for St. Jude's Hospital.
