School Delays & Closings
School delays and closings can sometimes be confusing and we want to make sure you know exactly what to do. We have posted an FAQ page on our web site where we answer these questions:
--------------------------------
I'm a half-day junior. Do I come to my morning lab on a 1 or 2 hour delay?
I'm a half-day senior. Does my lab start at the regular time on a 1 or 2 hour delay?
I'm a full day senior. On a 1 or 2 hour delay, where should I go upon arriving at school?
My home school is on a 2 hour delay, but DACC is not. What do I do?
I just received my home school's notification that they are delayed/closed and the message stated that DACC is also delayed/closed. What should I do?
--------------------------------
Please take a few moments to read through the questions to find a scenario that might apply to you or your child and bookmark the page on our web site for future reference.
Additional questions or special circumstances can be directed to PJ Taylor at (740) 203-2268.

Teen of the Week
The Delaware Gazette has officially kicked off this year's Teen of the Week competition. Every week, a senior in Delaware County is highlighted in the Delaware Gazette newspaper and at the end of the year, one of those students is chosen to be awarded Teen of the Year and $500 in college scholarships.
Please encourage your student to fill out this form and return it to the DACC PR Department no later than November 2nd.
For anyone familiar with the Teen of the Week process from years past, please be aware that the Gazette will not be accepting these applications this year. They should be sent directly to the DACC PR Office at South Campus.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact DACC's Public Relations Supervisor, Alicia Mowry at 740-201-3233 or MowryA@DelawareAreaCC.org.
Good luck to all of our applicants!

DACC Featured in Columbus CEO
DACC and area career technical schools were recently featured in a Columbus CEO article which addresses the skills gap in Central Ohio. According to the article,
"According to The National Association of Manufacturers, 88 percent of manufacturers are having difficulties finding qualified workers. In order for central Ohio to remain competitive in the global marketplace, it's crucial that employers are able to find, hire and retain the right people.
In a state with no shortage of colleges and universities, a recent survey revealed that the region's top hiring concern is finding workers with the knowledge, training and skill sets to fill specialized openings. Central Ohio's career technical education schools have stepped up to bridge that gap."

College and Career Fair
From 8am - 2pm on November 10th, area colleges and employers will be at DACC to speak with our north and south campus students about their future. These representatives are looking for candidates to attend their schools and become their future employees, so we encourage our students to 'dress for success.' First impressions can make a big difference and this day was created to give our students a chance to get their foot in the door.
