Celebrate My Drive & Win Up to $100K for DACC
DACC students have entered a contest with State Farm Insurance to win up to $100,000 to promote safe teen driving and to send DACC students to state and national competitions. Starting Wednesday, October 15th, you can help them win with just a few clicks of your mouse.
Simply go to our students' Celebrate My Drive Form and follow these steps:
- Fill your information into the spreadsheet to pledge your vote. Identifying what lab your student attends earns bonus points for that lab. The lab with the most registrations gets a Chipotle lunch at the end of the contest.
- Click the 'celebratemydrive' link inside that form to register your vote for the Delaware Area Career Center. These are the votes that count toward the $100,000 grand prize.
- Come back every day from Oct 15th - 24th to fill out the form & cast your vote. You can do this once a day per email address.
- Share the link with your friends and family. State Farm is awarding 90 $25,000 prizes and 10 $100,000 prizes. We have a real shot at winning, so every vote counts.
From the DACC staff and student body, thank you very much!

DACC Blood Drive
Over the last few weeks, both the North and South campuses held blood drives. Our staff and students donated a total of 74 units of blood, which has the potential to save 222 lives. Thank you to everyone who participated.
In addition, Austin Althouse from our Power Sports & Diesel program won the Regional American Red Cross Blue Jackets Experience award for donating at our blood drive. Austin received an autographed hockey stick, tickets to the game, puck, and other items from the Blue Jackets organization. Three blood drives are held at both North and South campus each school year. This program instills in the students the need for giving back to the community that supports them. By having the Red Cross Donations program at DACC students are eligible for possible scholarships offered by the Ohio Chapter of the American Red Cross. Last year a $350.00 scholarship was awarded to Jacob Shaw for donating blood at the DACC blood drives. |
Manufacturing Month
Collaboration with area businesses is key to the success of our students' education and we couldn't ask for better partnerships. In celebration of Manufacturing Month, our DACC high school students and our DACC students who attend classes at Dempsey Middle School and Buckeye Valley Middle School were invited to tour local manufacturing plants and learn a little more about the career opportunities available to them.
A big thank you goes out to AHP, Emerson Electric, Federal Heath, and Luvata for welcoming our students. Another thank you to Jimmy John's for providing lunch to our CBI students and sharing a how-to guide for landing that first job.
