September is a busy month for many of our students. We wish the best of luck to everyone who is participating in the Delaware County Fair this year. If you are not involved in the fair, then we hope you have a chance to get out and enjoy the cooler weather that is supposed to be headed our way this weekend.

Honeywell Instant Alerts

The Delaware Area Career Center uses the Honeywell Instant Alert system to notify students and parents of emergencies, weather delays, and weather cancellations.

On Tuesday, September 9th at 7:00pm, a test message was sent out to everyone who has subscribed to this system. If you did not receive a test message, please visit the Honeywell page on the DACC web site to subscribe or review the information you provided.
Visit DACC at the Delaware County Fair

DACC will have a booth at the Fair all day on Monday, September 16th with games and activities for everyone. Feel free to stop by and say 'Hello.' The Fire students and Power Line students are also volunteering their time to provide fair goers with lifesaving and training demonstrations on a power line pole that was installed at the fair specifically for this purpose. We hope to see you there!

Remembering 9/11
While DACC's Law Enforcement students make it a daily habit to raise and lower the school flag at south campus, yesterday's flag was raised to half-mast in remembrance of the events of 9/11.
Students in Mrs. Wright's class at Dempsey Middle School volunteered their afternoon at Oakgrove Cemetery to help clean and restore the area in honor of the National Day of Service in Remembrance of 9/11. What a wonderful way to give back!

Student & Staff Blogs, 2013/2014

Every year, a group of students volunteer to share their stories and experiences on the DACC web site. This year's Student Blog is officially up and running, so please stop by to find out what DACC students are up to this year.

In addition to the students, DACC staff members are also providing behind-the-scenes information on the Staff Blog. Don't forget to check in with our key leaders. If you have any specific questions or topics you'd like to see our students or staff cover on their blogs, please send an email to MowryA@DelawareAreaCC.org.
