CEAM is an organization which includes the 23 counties and the city of Baltimore, state agencies, and private engineering firms providing a forum for new ideas and is an advocate for the infrastructure needs of the entire state.

     The awarded project was the Worton Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade and Effluent Land Application System located in Kent County, MD. The entire project team (county, engineer, and contractor) received recognition for their efforts. 

     Recipients included Wayne Morris, Director of Public Works, Kent County, MD, Ryan Rangel, PE, Project Manager, McCrone, Inc., and John Wathan, JLW Associates.

The project has a positive impact on the environment and specifically helps reduce nutrient loading to the Chesapeake Bay by treating wastewater to advanced levels and by applying effluent to farmland where nutrients can be taken up by crops in lieu of being discharged to the Bay.
