Medicaid Estate Recovery Program
FREE TELEPHONE LEARNING SESSION
On March 1, 2005, Texas implemented the Medicaid Estate Recovery Program (MERP) in compliance with federal Medicaid laws. The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) manages the program. Under this program, the state may file a claim against the estate of a deceased Medicaid recipient, age 55 and older, who applied for certain long-term care services on or after March 1, 2005. Claims include the cost of services, hospital care and prescription drugs supported by Medicaid. For more information, please visit:
A FREE telephone learning session regarding information on MERP will take place on Tuesday, January 8 sponsored by WellMed. In this session, participants will learn why there is a Medicaid Estate Recovery Program (MERP) in Texas, who is affected by the program, which Medicaid programs come under MERP, program exemptions, and claims payment. The Special guest speaker will be Carlotta Vann. Carlotta has been the Program Manager for the Texas Medicaid Estate Recovery Program since August 2012. For additional information, or to register, please call 1-866-390-6491. |
