Match Madness
Thank you to all who supported the Salina Area United Way online or in person at GSCF's Match Madness 2014. We appreciate your support in growing our endowment!
Volunteer Summer Reading Program
Reading has begun! May 27 & 28 were the first days that United Way volunteers read at Schilling & Sunset Elementary to kids attending the Free Summer Lunch Program. 100 free books were given out to the kids that attended! There were about 5 volunteer readers both days, and we could still use more! Click here to sign up to read once, twice, or several times.
Again this year on Friday, June 20, the United Way Day of Action, we will have volunteers reading to kids at ALL NINE sites during the free summer lunch program. This day is separate from the Days we go to Sunset or Schilling because it allows for more people to be able to participate in the summer reading program! 2nd Annual United Way Open House
On Thursday, June 26, from 4-6PM at the SAUW office (128 N. Santa Fe, Suite 3A) & Phillips Plaza, Salina Area United Way will be holding their 2nd Annual Open House & Ice Cream Social. At this time we will present our 2013 Annual Report, give away 2013 Workplace Campaign awards, and thank United Way volunteers. Everyone is welcome to attend, & we hope to see you there!
Host a Jeans Day for United Way
Remember the Change for Change t-shirt box that many of you hosted at your workplace in 2013? We thought that perhaps you might like to host the box AGAIN, this time marking halfway until Workplace Campaign begins! The focus of this isn't raising money, instead it is just awareness! The idea is that your business hosts the t-shirt box for a day and employees get to wear jeans that day! Maybe jeans are a regular Five-dollar-Friday thing and you'd like to donate proceeds to SAUW- you are welcome to do that as well! You could call it "June Jeans for United Way" or "Jeans day for United Way"! Click here for more information
