Topics for the Meeting
1. *With a major emphasis, from the Governor's Ed Reform Commission, and the education community on the teaching of reading K-3 and Math K-5, we are interested in how you are teaching both subjects? Best practices? Barriers? Other suggestions?
2. *How can the state improve Teacher/Leader evaluations? The Governor's Ed Reform Commission is recommending differentiated pay/pay for performance. How best can this process be implemented? What objective measures can be used? How should it be phased-in? 3. Are the changes made to testing in SB 364 sufficient? 4. How do you think school climate can be improved?
Since time constraints may not permit full discussion of all questions, we encourage you to submit your comments in writing to be used by the committee in summarizing the meeting. Also, we encourage you to submit any other suggestions and positive solutions for any area of instruction that is not included in any of the above mentioned questions.
*Questions 1 and 2 will receive priority in the discussions. If time permits other items may be discussed.
