LEGISLATIVE ALERT
Will Gov. Deal Sign Critical Student
Testing and Evaluation Reform?
Please contact the office of Governor Nathan Deal today to encourage him to support students and schools by signing SB 364. As of this morning, no signing ceremony for SB 364 has been announced, a troubling indicator that Governor Deal may veto this important legislation. Tuesday, May 3 is the deadline by which the Governor must sign or veto any legislation; otherwise, it becomes law without his signature.

Parents and educators know that the overemphasis on standardized testing is hurting our students and schools. Education organizations representing over 375,000 Georgians support SB 364, including parents, teachers, school leaders, and school boards. Thanks to strong bipartisan support from the legislature, the bill passed the House and the Senate unanimously during 2016 General Assembly. These legislators understand that our students and schools need help without delay.

Please contact the Governor today. Educators, please remember to use your personal email account and electronic device outside of instructional time.
