Teacher Retirement System Board Meeting 
September 2015
The TRS board held their bimonthly meeting on September 23, 2015. TRS Net Assets currently stand at  $64,015,861,978. The Governor's office approved the FY 17 budget with no changes. More detailed information is listed below.
Membership and Retirement Report   
  • FYTD there are 1193 retirements compared to 1100 at this time last year.
  • Average years of service for retirees with 10 to 24 years of service is 17.
  • Average years of service for retirees with 25 plus years of service is 30.7 years.
  • Average age for service retirement is 59 years.
  • The average monthly benefit for service retirees is $3,166.
  • There are currently  113,960 retirees.
  • There are currently 244,120 active TRS members compared 239,685 at this time last year.
Financial Statements 
 
TRS net assets in July of 2014 were $65, 501,852, 777. TRS net assets in July of 2015 were $67, 255,609,934.

TRS net assets in August of 2014 were $66,947,188,206.. TRS net assets in August of 2015 were $64,015,861,978.
FY 2017 Budget     
 
The Governor's Office of Budget and Planning (OPB) approved the TRS FY 2017 budget.
