The Department of Community Health Board (DCH) met on October 9, 2014.
The DCH Board announced a new member, Michael Kleinpeter. His bio can be found HERE. As a reminder to our members, State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) open enrollment runs from October 27th to November 14th. Decision guides for SHBP members are located HERE. SHBP is conducting information sessions across the state to educate members about the 2015 insurance plans. Please CLICK HERE and scroll down the page to locate an information session near you. For Medicare Advantage (MA) members, United Health Care (UHC) will be the only MA plan offered. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia will not offer a Medicare Advantage plan with SHBP for the 2015 plan year.

Early Voting and Absentee Voting
Early voting begins in most counties next Monday, October 13th and runs through Friday, October 31st. To view early voting locations, dates, and times in your county, CLICK HERE. Georgia voters are also allowed to vote by absentee ballot. To request an absentee ballot, CLICK HERE, fill out the form, and CLICK HERE to find out where to send or deliver your request form. Absentee ballot request forms must be postmarked by November 4th, and they must be received by November 7th. November 4th is election day. To view your election day poll location, CLICK HERE. |

Upcoming Forum
A forum featuring State Superintendent Candidates Valarie Wilson and Richard Woods will be sponsored by the Georgia Council of Teachers of Mathematics at their annual meeting on Thursday, October 16th at 11 am. The forum is open to the public and will be held in the Talmadge Auditorium of the Rock Eagle 4-H Center, 350 Rock Eagle Rd, Eatonton, GA.
