Imaginary Worlds Exhibit Opens
at the Atlanta Botanical Garden
The new exhibit at the Atlanta Botanical Garden is a whimsical wonderland! Called "Imaginary Worlds," the exhibition has 19 larger-than-life fantasy plant sculptures. Mosaiculture is the horticultural art of creating giant topiary-like sculptures using thousands of living plants. These living sculptures, created by the International Mosaiculture of Montreal in collaboration with the Atlanta Botanical Garden, will be on display from May through October, and it's the first time they have come to the United States. Solterra is giving away four tickets to the exhibit. Enter for a chance to win by sending an email to Dixie between now and Sunday, May 26th with the subject line "PICK ME!" Dixie's email address is dixie@solterralandscape.com.

Plant of the Month
Bluebird Hydrangea
Ready for a different look in Hydrangeas? Dixie has grown to love the 'Bluebird' Hydrangea which is a large lace-cap type with vibrant blue blooms in the summer. And in the Fall, the leaves turn to a red hue where other varieties' leaves just turn brown in the Fall before dropping off for the Winter.

It was a wonderful surprise to see one of Solterra's projects featured on this month's cover of Atlanta Home Improvement Magazine.
The homeowners contacted Solterra following our contribution to a fundraising event for Riverwood High School.
Their property sits above the banks of the Chattahoochee River in Sandy Springs of which the entire landscape was overgrown and messy looking. Solterra came in, removed much of the overgrown plants, and created a design that would enhance the home and special site while also incorporating the desires and likes of the homeowners.

The plant selection included interesting evergreen shrubs for winter interest, spring and summer-blooming shrubs, long-blooming perennials, and medium-size specimen trees. When the homeowners sit on their second-level deck spaces now, they have an unobstructed view of the river with lush lawn and planting in the foreground.
