WHERE IS THE PARADE ASSEMBLY & ROUTE?

Saturday, September 7, 2013 the Jesus in the City Parade Rally commences at 12pm in front of the Queen's Park Legislative Building on Queen's Park Circle North of University Ave & College Street. The parade will leave Queen's Park immediately following the rally and proceed along Bloor Street, Yonge Street & College Street, returning to Queen's Park for a short Post Parade Concert Celebration.  

 

ARE THERE ANY ROAD CLOSURES?  
There will be a road closure of Queen's Park Circle West for the Jesus in the City tents, food sales and vendors. From Hoskin Ave to College Street traffic will be diverted from 6am to 6pm. So if you are coming from the North of Queen's Park on Avenue Road traffic will be blocked south of Hoskin Ave. It is suggested you come up from the South East side of Queen's Park Circle Crescent to avoid the Road Closure

We recommend you take the TTC Public Transit System and get off at Queen's Park Subway Station. There will also be an east end bus leaving from 1250 Markham Rd at 11am

to go to Queen's Park on Saturday morning ($10). Call Ann Nevins to reserve a seat (647-346-5711).   

WHERE DO I PARK? 

There is no parking on the Queen's Park grounds for the general public. If you are a vendor, an artist, an organization that has entered a float or a volunteer carrying large equipment, there are only 50 parking spots available at the back of Queen's Park.  Please call our office at 416-770-8699 to get a parking pass ($25). No vehicles will be allowed to park or unload in front of the Queen's Park Legislative Buildings after 9am.  

 

Other recommended parking in the area would be underground parking at the nearby hospitals or public parking lots.  

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MY FLOAT / SECTION IN THE PARADE?

All float vehicles must be decorated, ready and lined up on Queen's Park Circle East beside their assigned float number by 10am. Float sound equipment loading vehicles cannot remain on Queen's Park Circle Crescent after unloading. Registered Groups without a float vehicle and just a banner will be called into order from the rally stage, during the kick-off rally. WHERE DO I SET UP MY VENDOR BOOTH? 

Vendors must have their tents, tables and booths set up on Queens Park Circle West by 10am. There will be a road closure of Queen's Park Circle West for all our vendors. (See grounds map). Delivery/Large drop-offs in front of Queen's Park closes at 9am. After 9am items will have to be carried in from the back parking lot.

 

WHEN IS SOUND CHECK FOR ARTISTS?

Artists must be at Queen's Park at 10am for sound check. No vehicles will be allowed to park in front of the Queen's Park Legislative Grounds. If you are unloading instruments for the stage in front of the Queen's Park Legislative Building, loading time closes at 9am

 

WHAT TIME DO VOLUNTEERS ARRIVE? 

All volunteers must be at Queen's Park no later than 9am. Assigned Volunteer Security Marshalls relieving the Paid Duty Toronto Police Road Closure Officers must be at Queen's Park by 8am). We need more Marshalls and Volunteers! Please call 416-770-8699. 


WHERE DO I GET MY COSTUME?
Anyone who would like to wear a costume / carry a Bible Banner must be at Queen's Park in front by the costume truck between 10am & 11am and be dressed and ready to walk at the front section of the parade by 12pm. Contact Maureen Emanuel if you would like to reserve a costume (416-560-8067).

WHERE CAN I GET T-SHIRTS? 
T-shirts will be available at Queen's Park on the parade day and at Canada Christian College (50 Gervais Drive) prior. Please call in advance to find out office days and hours to pick up.

WILL THERE BE FOOD & REFRESHMENTS? 
There will be food and beverages for sale at the parade.
