NEXT Builds Talent Pipeline
|
|
The CEO's in NEXT have made it very clear over the last several months what the most urgent need is within the NEXT ecosystem - world-class talent. In response, NEXT is moving on several strategic fronts to ensure our companies have the human capital needed to compete globally. Here are some current examples of the progress being made:
NEXT Job Board
Created by a task force of NEXT CEO's, the new NEXT Job Board lists full-time and internship openings with high growth companies across the region. The Job Board is being promoted at area colleges and to the community at large as the primary means to find employment positions with NEXT companies. University Connections
NEXT has convened groups of software CEO's in 2013 to visit with leadership from Clemson University, Furman University, and Wofford College to date with a heavy emphasis on computer science and the need for software development talent in the Greenville/Upstate area. In April, NEXT took 12 software company CEO's for a half-day meeting with the faculty and students at Clemson's School of Computing and are planning additional marketing events in 2013 to showcase NEXT companies and job/internship openings to their students (photo above).
NEXT High School
A new free, public high school unlike any other in the southeastern United States is being launched in Greenville and has its origins in NEXT. The NEXT High School will leverage technology and project-based learning and a strong connectivity with the local business community to deliver on its mission to "prepare young people for life after school."
More Talent Assistance
