HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
We're thankful for our members and the thriving business community you invest in!

Congratulations to our Small Business of the Month: The Cook's Station!

The Cook's Station presented with Greenville Chamber's November 2012 Small Business of the Month Award. From left to right: Chamber President & CEO Ben Haskew, Board Chairman Mike Riordan (Greenville Hospital System), Award Sponsor Ken Pelanda (Charter Business), Award Committee Member Myles Golden (Golden Career Strategies), and The Cook's Station's Kelly and John Colacioppo.

Kelly Ballentine Colacioppo founded The Cook's Station fifteen years ago this month, and her husband John joined her in 2007. Located in the Historic West End, The Cook's Station has been an integral part of the West End's revitalization and growth. The Cook's Station has established itself as Greenville's kitchen expert by its integration of two businesses under one roof:  they are both a major appliance dealer and a kitchen store. They sell over sixteen full lines of major appliances for the kitchen, laundry, home bar, and outdoor living, showcasing brands such as Sub-zero Wolf, GE, Miele, Dacor, Thermador, Bosch, and DCS. The other side of the business, kitchenware, has just about everything foodies need to outfit their kitchens: cookware, barware, cutlery, kitchen gadgets, tableware, gourmet foods, fine wines, unique gifts, and a wedding and gift registry. Culinary know-how is demonstrated in their cooking classes, wine tastings and private events.

Kelly and John are passionate about helping their customers, as well as our community. They support Meals on Wheels, Harvest Hope Food Bank, and the Wounded Warrior Project.

BEST Tip of the Week Did you know that you can save anywhere from 5-25% of your energy costs by installing a real-time electricity monitoring system to control and manage systems as well as devices in your place of business and/or rental properties. Systems costs on average $250 installed and can generate a return in less than 1 year. The transmitting device, located in your circuit breaker panel, measures the amount of electricity coming into your business as you demand/use it, and transmits data every second over your receiving unit. The receiving display unit is plugged into any outlet. The data can be viewed the in both dollar and kW amounts, based on your specific utility bills. Visit FurmanBEST.biz for more ways to take control of your utility costs.
