THIRD- GRADE BIBLES

We expect of our children, by the time that they are in third grade, that they be able to engage scripture and some Sam's Picture of the basic concepts of faith on their own. We do not necessarily expect them to be scholars but we expect different conversations with them as we discuss faith, both theirs and ours. In that light, we continue the tradition of presenting to our third-graders a Bible of their own.
"The word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow; it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." So wrote the writer of Hebrews (4:12) so many years ago, and the same is still true of God's word. The Bibles that we present to our third-graders contain that powerful word and we give the Bibles in great hope and trust. This is a great day for the third graders and their families.
