PATRIOTIC SUNDAY

This Sunday is Patriotic Sunday, one of our most popular worship services of the year. VETERANS, REMEMBER THAT WE WANT YOU TO GATHER IN THE LOBBY OF THE FAMILY LIFE HALL fifteen Sam's Picture minutes before the worship service. You will process into the sanctuary on the opening hymn. Early in the service, the hymns of the various branches of service will be played and we ask that you raise your hand as the hymn for your branch is heard, then you can be seated. Assistance will be provided.

Our guests speakers this morning are two of our own. Mitzi Smith Moore is President of Sundial Plumbing Services, the largest female-owned plumbing contractor in Georgia. She has won numerous local and national awards and has been named one of Georgia's Power Women, National Contractor of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Atlanta Consumers Choice, and Best of Plumbing Category by, among other groups, Georgia Trend magazine, the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Creative Loafing magazine, and various national plumbing associations.

Locally, she serves on the boards of, among others, the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Kennesaw State University, Chattahoochee Tech, and Wellstar Health System. She has been an integral (and generous) part of the plumbing restoration component of Restore To Glory! She is married to Richard and has two grown children.

Major General (retired) Robert H. Griffin is a native of Atlanta and earned degrees from Auburn University (two!), Long Island University, the U. S. Army War College and the U. S. Army Command General Staff College. Among other assignments, he served as Deputy Commanding General of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and managed a military and civil works program exceeding twenty billion dollars. He commanded a heavy combat battalion during Operation Desert Storm.

Gen. Griffin's decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and Ranger Tab and Parachutist Badge. He is married to Bobbie and they live in Smyrna.

The procession of veterans is led by Lt. Col. (ret.) Clarence Bush, a thirty-one year (and ten days!) veteran of the U. S. Air Force whose overseas assignments included Tokyo, the Azores, Germany, and Thailand.

We welcome all who gather today-our speakers, our veterans, and all who endeavor to live as faithful patriots of a nation whose greatest goal should always be to serve the living and true God.

And I'll see you this Sunday.
