Blessing of the Backpacks. On Sunday, August 10 at both services, children are invited to bring their backpacks to be blessed for the school year. Come down during Children's Time to receive the blessing and a special cross charm to put on the backpacks!

Power 45! begins on August 10! All 4th and 5th graders are invited to a pool party at Ms. Georgia's house from 4-6 p.m. Power 45! meets the 2nd Sunday of August through April, and ends with a summer kick-off party in May. Invite your friends! RSVP to georgiarambo@mariettafumc.org by August 7 for the pool party.

There will be a meeting for anyone interested in joining our Liberia mission team on Sunday, August 17 at 12:30 p.m. in room 201-B. The team will travel to Liberia in early December 2014 and work in the areas of water purification, education, and community building. You are invited to join the Men of the Church for their August dinner meeting on Monday, August 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Rev. Brian Smith, 96 Whitlock Ave. (the parsonage). Dinner will be provided. This will be a great time to visit with Brian and the guys and to learn more about the Men of the Church. Join our Peru Mission Team. The group will work in Chimbote, Peru November 8-15. There is a need for medical personnel to work in the health clinic, and also workers with basic carpentry or electrical skills. Send an e-mail to Kathy Cadle for more information.

Fuse Lacrosse registration is underway! Children who turn 3 by September 1, 2014 through 5th grade are eligible to play, and the games will be from 2-3 p.m. August 10 through September 21 (except August 31). This is a fast-paced, fun sport for beginners or players who are looking for a way to improve their skills in a casual setting.
