Door won't unlock?
Dead Engine?
New Speakers Fitted only one working?
We have a similar problem to those posted but there doesn't seem to be an easy solution. The key moves the internal pin up but the external and internal door handles see to have to attachment to the barrel. We don't have central locking so that's no help. I've tried j.j.j.jiggling it, pulling, pulling handle while turning key, al, the usual stuff. Of course I can't get the door card off with the door closed. Any ideas?

think I can help with this. I had the same issue, and eventually spotted the problem. Look at the latch on the outside of the car door handle. There should be a gap, as the latch should be open. If there is not much of a gap, you just need to prise it open and then the lock should work. If you can't see what I mean, check the passenger side which is usually okay, so in the correct position to compare. Let me know if this does the trick.

I've put a post about this on one of the facebook boards but I thought I'd post it here too. Coming home on the motorway one night I noticed that my car just 'felt' funny, didn't think too much of it. Until I noticed that I had my foot to the floor and no more power was coming through, then it would suddenly kick in again. This went in for a while until we came to some roundabouts and I noticed that the car was finding it hard to keep going, shuddering and going extremely slow, then, again, kicking in and being fine. I pulled over and revved it for a bit and it started smoking so I switched it off. I thought it could either be the engine, turbo or head gasket. The RAC man couldn't find a direct problem with any of these and was puzzled. Took it to our Nissan specialist garage, they've had it for a week now and originally said it was neither the engine, turbo or head gasket. And that it might be the ignition coil. But since ordering new parts etc have said it's definitely not that, and none of the other things I thought it would be. They're very confused, mainly because of when I said it would kick in again as it just shouldn't. It's only firing on two cylinders at the moment, says there is a small chance that the head gasket could have gone over them? but isn't convinved. They basically have no clue and completely confused by what's causing the issue. I've heard others say they've had this and mechanics haven't found the issue and they've needed a new engine. Has anyone else had this? I'm useless with mechanics so have no idea really just repeating what my mechanic has said :

When it started smoking was it from the exhaust pipe and what colour was it? was the temp gauge showing hot ? It's possible for the headgasket to blow between 2 cylinders but they should be able to do tests to check for it .Have they checked for any fault codes in the ecu.If there is a mechanical fault it should be fairly straight forward to find it especially as it's doing it now. Much easier to diagnose when it's in front of you rather than from afar unfortunately.

Hello again everyone I brought and fitted ( with a little help) a set of speakers for Farah. Stereo is a new standard cd/aux player by JVC which we didn't fit. Previously, only one of the speakers worked, at first the drivers side one worked intermittently and finally giving up altogether. Sometimes when i turned a corner it would come back to life- suggesting a wire or connection was loose. Thought there wasn't any sound because the speakers were in such awful condition, however when fitting new, drivers side still isn't working. My dad and i ended up wiring it into the back of the stereo (bypassing all wiring in car as though possibly loose connection from speaker to unit) but nothing. Checked the wiring that we could see and the changes that had been made- still nothing obvious. Am i missing something silly and small? The wiring was a little confusing as passengers side speakers had red/black white combo, but drivers blue/black white combo. Apologies if i sound like i don't know what I'm on about- i don't but I'm learning :) As always- many thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

You probably have but did you check the balance on the stereo unit? could try swapping speakers side to side to eliminate faulty speaker ,if you have put new wiring from speaker to the unit it could be a fault in the unit itself.

ABOUT THE CLUB

Our Mission Statement
"to provide comprehensive advice and information to both present and future owners (in addition to having lots of fun in the process) and to ensure these wonderful cars and their providence is preserved for the next generation of owners"

So how did the club start?
My son 'Daniel' had always wanted a Figaro having seen the car at our local garage when he was just 16. After saving for a number of years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad!) he at last brought an emerald green model in May 2008. Following the purchase we searched on the internet for a club in the hope we could attend events with other owners but were amazed that no club existed... So the Figaro Owners Club was born!
We decided to build a website and forum which took 6 months and on the 1st March 2009 we pressed the publish button and waited to see if anyone wanted to join? Within a week we had 10 members, a month 35 and a year 478. Today the club has almost 1,600 members worldwide and our website is used by over 45 countries!

Thanks to all our supporters and members for their support.

Warmest Regards
