Hi ,
and welcome to our July 2014 Nissan Figaro Owners Club Newsletter.

A Whirlwind Adventure
Looking back the Holland Figaro Rally 2014 seems like a frantic blur! Did Sue and me really meet all those wonderful people, travel along those stunning roads, witness some very 'dodgy' dance moves (you know who you are) and see all those amazing sights. Well yes it seems so and to prove it we took lots of pictures and videos... See them and watch our video below.

There's still time participate in a 2014 rally for just 20!
If you missed out on Holland trip and the Jurassic Rally and wish to experience the fun of 'convoy driving' you can still take part in our Isle of White Figaro Rally 2014 which is over the weekend of 13th/14th September. We have 20 cars registered so far and have started planning the routes and venues. The small country roads are designed for the Figaro so why not join us and lets rip up the island in September!

New Promotional Club Video
We are delighted to announce the release of our club video! The 9 minute film encapsulates the clubs culture and activities and includes member interviews, clips and pictures of some of the fun we've had over the last 4 years. Click here to watch

WELCOME
To all our new members. Please remember to pop over some pictures and or stories about you and your love for your Fig!!

Catch you next month :)

Screeching air conditioning
Battery Clamps
To Darn Hot
Yesterday the air condition fan started to make a very loud screeching noise. It is definitely the fan not the compressor. My question is how do you remove the frame supporting fan. There is an obvious fixing on the offside but the two nearside fixings appear to be behind the main radiator. Does the main radiator have to be removed, or can I just undo the bolts and ease it away from the panel. I assume that, in the short term, it will be okay to drive the vehicle with the fan disconnect providing the air conditioning is not used. Is that correct? If possible, I will try and lubricate the offending bearing if I can get access to it. In the (probable) event that that proves to be unsuccessful can anybody tell me if the fans expensive or does anybody have one they would like to sell?

The fan only runs when air con is switched on so no need to disconnect if your not using it. Can't find removal in the service manual but should be straight forward. Looking at the parts diagram should just be able to remove the fan on it's own. You could have a look on ebay for someone braking a Fig or try one of the sellers who advertise here. You could try and get a new one from Nissan. Part numbers are: 27653: motor, condenser 9212235B00 27653F: fan, condenser 9212201A00 27653M: fan & motor assembly, condenser 9212035B00 \ 9212037B00...

Hi Apologies if this has been posted already, but I did search,Honest ! I noticed that the battery only had one clamp, which was loose anyway so it wasnt doing much in the first place !any thoughts on temporarily securing the battery, and getting hold of another clamp ?Are they "standard"?I had a go at trying to secure it ,but there are no obvious points Thanks Steve and Janet

Hi, Below is a pic of the parts and the org part numbers. I assume your missing one of the rods? Had it snapped or is the base that it attaches to broken? You may have to remove the battery to see properly. Once you know whats broken you can decide what to do, if you just simply need a new rod I would try getting a used one from one of the sellers who add here or from ebay searching for a breaking fig. Worse case try your Nissan dealer with the below (long) part numbers, hay have to order in though. Another fix maybe to get some threaded rod studding of the same length an use washers and nuts to make a replacement. It's not that clear from the pic how it attaches at the bottom, so you will have to see, I presume they hook onto the battery support bracket...

Hi all, my engine bay is getting very, very hot after the shortest of journeys. Why would this be? It also cuts in and out very quickly as if the engine is stopping for the briefest moment then starting again although this isn't constant it is worrying. any ideas friends? Thanks.

Yes Hi Paul, do you mean the fan? When you say hot, how far up the gauge are you reading? Mine is generally half way up, goes up to three quarters if the car has been sitting still...

ABOUT THE CLUB

Our Mission Statement
"to provide comprehensive advice and information to both present and future owners (in addition to having lots of fun in the process) and to ensure these wonderful cars and their providence is preserved for the next generation of owners"

So how did the club start?
My son 'Daniel' had always wanted a Figaro having seen the car at our local garage when he was just 16. After saving for a number of years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad!) he at last brought an emerald green model in May 2008. Following the purchase we searched on the internet for a club in the hope we could attend events with other owners but were amazed that no club existed... So the Figaro Owners Club was born!
We decided to build a website and forum which took 6 months and on the 1st March 2009 we pressed the publish button and waited to see if anyone wanted to join? Within a week we had 10 members, a month 35 and a year 478. Today the club has almost 1,600 members worldwide and our website is used by over 45 countries!

Thanks to all our supporters and members for their support.

Warmest Regards
