Hi ,
and welcome to our October 2013 Newsletter. Before you get your monthly 'figgy fix' can we just tell you some important information. From this month our email address is changing to...
Figaro Watch (yes really)
We've been so excited about this but can only now make it public! The club was approached a few months ago by a company called Timekeepers about the possibility of creating a Figaro Watch. The watch features a gently crowned 38 mm bezel machined from billet stainless steel (waterproof to 30 meters) polished to a high luster, scratch resistant curved mineral glass crystal, a polished and 3 dimensional Figaro logo on a flat Bone White dial face printed with black numerals in the distinctive Figaro font and a highly polished logo shaped crown. The shock resistant Japanese quartz movement gives the precise time with it's hours, minutes and seconds. The Figaro watch comes standard with a medium grain Bone White leather strap with polished stainless steel buckle. Available in their Accessory Straps and Band category are optional straps that mimic the exterior colors- Topaz Mist, Emerald Green, Lapis Grey and Aqua Blue.
We hope they prove successful and with Christmas just around the corner it could be the perfect figgy gift! read more

You can see below the fun we had a few weeks ago at the lakes. It was a great opportunity for me to meet many of our northern members who had traveled down from Scotland. Oh and I hope you like the pictures... Sue hold onto my leg! I will do anything for a good picture... WelcomeTo all our new figgy fans. Don't forget to join our forum and send us your pictures of you and your car (please don't be shy).

Keep polishing! This is me cleaning the Club Figaro.

Lastly, for those of you attending the lakes next week, drive safety and please remember those hills we'll be climbing so give your car a good check over before you leave!
Warmest Regards
Kevin

Yet again a couple of weeks ago the club was contacted by a member whose insurance company offered around 50% of the value of the car following a collision. If they'd had had an Agreed Value they would have got 100%! Our recommended insurer ClassicLine Insurance Offers this as a standard on all their polices. read more

Dust & Debries

Screeching air conditioning

Limp Door Mirror

My air con keeps blowing in a lot of black particles, If I leave it off for a while then turn it on the particles Getty blown everywhere. It's not dust, it's much thicker than dust. Does something need cleaning? Where is it coming from? Any ideas?
Hi I would guess its the black foam seals that have deteriorated with age. Most likely from the air intake which is behind the glove box on the passenger side. On both our Figs when I took out the dashboards to recover them I found the foam seals that go between the air intake to the aircon box were just like dust crumbs. I replaced the bad sections with foam padding I cut to strips and stuck on. You may be able to access it by removing the bottom passenger section, you may need to remove the dash to get to it properly. The foam is also used in the middle section which lines the air output diverted when you select face, demist or floor. So it may be that. If it is you will have to remove the dash. Read more

Yesterday the air condition fan started to make a very loud screeching noise. It is definitely the fan not the compressor. My question is how do you remove the frame supporting fan. There is an obvious fixing on the offside but the two nearside fixings appear to be behind the main radiator. Does the main radiator have to be removed, or can I just undo the bolts and ease it away from the panel. I assume that, in the short term, it will be okay to drive the vehicle with the fan disconnect providing the air conditioning is not used. Is that correct? If possible, I will try and lubricate the offending bearing if I can get access to it. In the (probable) event that that proves to be unsuccessful can anybody tell me if the fans expensive or does anybody have one they would like to sell?
The fan only runs when air con is switched on so no need to disconnect if your not using it. Can't find removal in the service manual but should be straight forward. Looking at the parts diagram should just be able to remove the fax on it's own. You could have a look on ebay for someone braking a Fig or try one of the sellers who advertise here. You could try and get a new one from Nissan. Part numbers are: 27653: motor, condenser 9212235B00 27653F: fan, condenser 9212201A00 27653M: fan & motor assembly, condenser 9212035B00 \ 9212037B00 Read more

Hi My fig isn't my daily driver so I'm not sure if the family are just knocking it or if the mirror is just loose but every time I take the car for a drive the passenger side mirror seems to have moved. Has anyone had the mirror apart to tighten what I assume is a ball joint. Looking at the mirror there is a slot at the bottom of the mirror, , this may be a drainage hole or perhaps a slot for inserting a screwdriver for popping the white backing off. As you can guess I don't want to try popping the white back off if I'm going to break it. So if anyone has advice that would be great
Had Hi Don't try and put a screwdriver in the slot. The white part is actually the body. The black bit is just a small bit of trim welded onto the back which holds the mirror in. All you need to do is lower the window to access the two nuts holding the mirror on. Then once removed you can tighten the nut in the shaft. Read more

Unlike other car clubs we don't spend your money on employing pen pushers and administration staff such as a company secretary, treasurer, events co-coordinator, web-designer, marketing assistant etc... This is me in our little office where all the magic is created (well mostly magic anyway). Apart from Caroline (Caz) who does a fantastic job managing the forum everything is done by me!
The Figaro Owners Club was launched in March 2009 to provide comprehensive advice and information to both present and future owners.
So how did all this start? My son 'Daniel' had always wanted a Figaro having seen the car at his local garage when he was just 16. After saving for a number of years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad!) he at last brought an emerald green model in May 2008. Following the purchase we searched on the internet for a club in the hope we could attend events with other owners. We were amazed that no club existed so the Figaro Owners Club was born! We decided to build a website and forum which took 6 months and on the 1st March 2009 we pressed the publish button and waited to see if anyone wanted to join? Within a week we had 10 members, a month 35 and a year 478. Today the club has almost 1,600 members worldwide and our website is used by over 45 countries!
Thanks to all our supporters and members for their support.
