Hi ,
Welcome to our June 2013 Newsletter.

A few of Sundays ago (well 4 to be precise) we attended InCarNation down on the coast in Brighton. As always with these days out you go along in your car, slightly perplexed and nervous in the hope that other people will see why you love your car so much. In the company of some serous 'muscle cars' and knowing that the Figaro is not exactly large in the horsepower department  these concerns can also rise to the point of hoping they don't laugh at you! Along with 19 other owners we needn't have been worried as everyone instantly fell in love with our selection of mouth watering cars and colours on display.

With all the cars perfectly inline and information on hand compared with the other car displays ours seemed to be more stylish, professional and approachable which as it happens reflects the cars and the owners who turned up perfectly!

Picture shows the 19 cars on display

This month we'll see our members enjoy 4 events including the Normandy Figaro Rally 2013 so look out for a bumper issue next month.

Keep polishing. This is me cleaning the Club Figaro!
Lastly a warm welcome to all our new Members, catch everyone next month :)

Warmest Regards

From acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro comes "Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures' Pacific Rim." The trailer features a Green Figaro after the monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju are seen rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. Forum member Papasan just missed out on buying an original Lottery Ticket for sale on a Japanese on-line auction site. The ticket numbered at 74,697 was sold for 1005 yen (£6.56) which was only 5 yen more than Papasan bid! 100,000 tickets were produced and 20,000 winners of the car back in 1991.

It's only when you think you have everything under control something horrible comes and bites you on the bum! That happened in the middle of last month when our online car sales site Figaro Trader was taken out by a particular nasty virus. The damage done was massive, corrupting files left, right and centre! We will notify all when its fixed.
As a club we don't make a habit of publishing stolen cars but we've just about had enough of these scum bags and thought that this one stands out from the crowd. Of course we know that its most probably had a respray but its worth a punt. Keep your eyes pealed please and if you have any news contact the owner. Read more

Ace Corner, London, NW10 7UD. Join us to kick of our first event of the year at the Ace Cafe. This superb venue with wonderful food is worth a trip without all our members Figaros! Last year we had 73 Figs squeeze into the car park so be prepared for some very close parking!

In association with the Dutch Figaro Owners Club we are planning to organise a rally to this beautiful country.

Steeped in history with 60 miles of stunning unspoilt scenery and a wealth of attractions, the Isle of Wight is the prefect destination for our Figs! With some great clifftop roads, historic sites it would make a great destination.

Aerial comes down but won't go up!
I get a beep when I get into my car?
Chrome Trim
Hi. I have read that the aerial can be a little temperamental and some owners have had the problem of the aerial going up but not coming down. I have taken the plunge and fitted a new arial mast but that has not cured the problem. Have any other owners experienced this with their aerial? Any advise appreciated! Phil.

I assume you replaced the whole unit rather than fitting a new antenna? When you press the switch down do you hear the motor going? Should sound the same as going up or down? On the assumption it only makes a noise going down then I would say it's likely to be one of the two relays. See attached picture of the wiring diagram and location, looks like 2 relays (1T), located in B7 near to the aerial itself. Not sure why it lists the relay 1T twice with different part numbers so you should check which ones are fitted. Check them, see if they are OK. One may be faulty. They look like the same part numbers, if they are you could try swap them around to see if the issue reverses. If your not sure what to do this diagram should help an auto electrician diag the issue. They may need to test the switch and the wiring as well as relays. If you lookup the part numbers you may find a replacement, else try your Nissan dealer or Auto Electrical shop.
its just a short but very loud beep...... its not at all like the buzzer for the roof... lasts about 3-5 seconds every time i start the car .. .?? any clues..

Probably the seat belt warning buzzer. If you plug the drivers seat belt on first and check the seat belt light on the dash goes off and then try starting. If there is still an issue see this

Hi all. I have owned my Figaro for a week now and this is my first posting! I notice that the chrome on all the rear lights has corroded at the bottom of the chrome surround, where rain water can puddle and therefore with time will be prone to rust. Can the chrome surround be replaced separately from the rear light? Are there any favored suppliers? thanks! Phil.

Looking at the Nissan DB is it part of the light. I have see Figs with small foil like stuck at the bottom. Also saw someone has said they had rubbed down and resprayed the surround. This is a common issue, you may be lucky and get a good used one as a replacement. You could try Nissan \ www.amayama.com/search GBP: Just the bodies: 26564: body assembly, combination lamp NO 2 RH 26534-37B00 26569: body assembly, combination lamp NO 2 LH 26539-37B00 26554: body assembly, combination lamp RH 26554-37B00 26559: body assembly, combination lamp LH 26559-37B00 Although looking on Amayama the whole units might be cheaper: 26530: lamp assembly, rear turn signal RH 26530-37B00 26535: lamp assembly, rear turn signal LH 26535-37B00 26550: lamp assembly, rear combination RH 26550-37B00 26555: lamp assembly, rear combination LH 26555-37B00

About the people behind the Figaro Owners Club
MY CARThe Figaro Owners Club was launched in March 2009 to provide comprehensive advice and information to both present and future owners.

How it all started
"My son 'Daniel' had always wanted a Figaro having seen the car at his local garage when he was just 16. After saving for a number of years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad!) he at last brought an emerald green model in May 2008. Following the purchase we searched on the internet for a club in the hope we could attend events with other owners. We were amazed that no club existed so the Figaro Owners Club was born! We decided to build a website and forum which took 6 months and on the 1st March 2009 we pressed the publish button and waited to see if anyone wanted to join? Within a week we had 10 members, a month 35 and a year 478!"

The club now has almost 1,600 members worldwide.

Warmest Regards
