Hi
Happy New Year from me and everyone connected with the Figaro Owners Club. With Christmas now a distant memory and the new year in full swing now is the time to start looking forward to 2013 because its going to be
A GREAT YEAR TO OWN A NISSAN FIGARO!

As a club we have so much good stuff going on this year...

More Events than ever to get out in your Figaro
We have so many events and rallies planned... It all kicks off at the Ace Cafe London on the 13th April 2013 and includes two rallies (Normandy & Lake District).

Our 'New Look' Website will show off these cars to the world
Our last site had over 1/2 million visitors so we're very excited about our new site which includes extensive ownership help with over 300 pages of information and 1,200 images! The project has been a mountain of work as we had to build the site first then transfer all the resource. It will allow better member interactive functionality too with Facebook integration. Improved Gallery/Videos and more. We think for a little car club its pretty tasty. Test drive now

Updated and Improved Newsletter to tell you what's going on

Noticed anything different about this Newsletter? We've redesign it to ensure it works with Microsoft latest software. Although it worked perfectly okay in Microsoft Outlook 2003 we have been having a number of problems with Microsoft Outlook 2007/2010. Technology doesn't it make you scream!

Revised 'Fixed Cost' Pricing for better clarity & Fairness

Well its finally happened, after 3 years we've decided to move away from our 'donation based' Membership fee. This decision was based on research and membership feedback and is in line with other car clubs. May we take this opportunity to thank everyone who's donated over the years and enabled us to get to where we are today it really is appreciated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NEW MEMBERSHIP PRICING - FROM 01/01/2013
24.00 - New Members
15.00 - Renewal (Yes we know its great value!)

Oh and almost forgot about Normandy!
We have 20 confirmed bookings and another 5 tentative so that's 25 cars with 6 months to go! If we can match Jersey (29 cars) that will be amazing. Continental Car Tours have sent us the provisional routes and they look stunning.

Replacement Engine Needed
MOT Passed with Advisory Items
Parts Wanted
Hi all. My Fig has today been diagnosed with a naff crank (not cam) shaft and big end knocking! Have found recon engine online for 800. Can anybody help

You're taking a chance on a "re-conditioned" engine, because you'll never know how well it's been done or which parts in detail have been replaced, & unless you get a warranty which covers every possibility you've no reassurance of it's reliability. It might be better to have your engine repaired by a garage you can trust, or one of the advertisers on the forum if it hasn't done excessive miles. From what you say, & unless there's irreparable damage you may get a better job, & you'll have invoices for the work done. All parts are available, & the work may be similar in price.

Had 'Pootles' MOT today. He behaved very well even though the burly mechanics were quite rough with him. Last year we got through the MOT with a different Garage, with a clear section under Advisory section. This year we changed to a different garage as the previous MOT garage is no longer showing as a member of the GOOD GARAGE SCHEME. Anyway I tried this new place out, and although 'Pootle' passed and they only charged me 35 for the MOT, there is a long list of Advisory items now. Is this normal in a 12 month period. Was feeling quite smug having a nice clear Advisory panel last year. We are going to have to sell lovely 'POOTLE' because of our new little arrival (bundle of Joy my wife calls him...I call him sleepless nights). Both Front tyres are showing as 3mm and 3.5mm, Front and rear coil springs are showing as corroded (22yr old car i suppose) Inner front pad wearing thin and an Oil leak....Although he could not tell me where it was. Just want to see if others think this is normal after a clean MOT or are the garage trying it on a bit. Do these all need to be done before I sell our beloved 'Pootle

It's down to the individual tester whether they add any advisories it gives the presenter the heads up on anything that may want doing soon and it covers thier back as it were ,the springs were probably corroded last year but just not advised on- most of them now are corroded to some extent , tyres are legal but low , i would have the brakes checked out - may just be something sticking and a set of pads , and see how bad the oil leak is ,might just be the oil switch or a seal, a lot of them are a bit oily now .Nick

I'm after a few bits to keep me busy over the Christmas break.
I would like a dash front in good condition with no holes drilled (not bothered if its for the net shelf) and no cracks.  Also after the blue caps for on the dash top (the oval ones)  And the interior light switches for both doors. let me know if anyone has any of these parts spare

The parts suppliers (I can recommend Marc at www.figaroclub.com) can usually supply these things, but I think you'll find that you'll have to buy the whole dash from my experience.
If the dash front you have has holes I can understand the reason for a new one. If it's just sticky & untidy it can be re-sprayed with suitable paint from auto paint suppliers.

About the people behind the Figaro Owners Club
MY CARMy son Daniel had always wanted a Figaro and after saving for years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad!) he brought an Emerald Green one in May 2008. That was it - I was hooked too! Even now we spend many a happy weekend polishing her in the garage.

We just love all that chrome... After buying the car we started searching the internet for ownership help and advice and although a forum existed there was no real club so in December 2008 we started designing and building the web site which took around 4 Months. The club was formed in February 2009 and launched on 1st March 2009

Warmest Regards
