Camping at Westview on the James.   We will be camping at Westview on the James the weekend of September 30 - October 2.  This fun trip will include portions of the low ropes course, a small service project, hiking, camp fires, worship and the best food around.  Tents are provided.  The deadline to sign up is this Sunday, September 18.  Contact Mark or Linette for more information or to sign up.

FUEL Sunday Night Worship continues this week with the topic: Who am I?  We will talk about being the person God wants us to be, and not who the world says we should be.  Join us for food, games and worship, beginning at 6:30pm in the youth building.

Confirmation classes at Good Shepherd are an opportunity for young people to explore their Christian faith in more depth and to learn about what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ. It is a time to ask questions and to ponder answers.  Students in grade 8 or older who have not previously attended the class are invited to participate. For students interested in participating in the 2016 - 2017 class, please come to an informational meeting on Sun., Sept. 25 at 10:40 a.m. in the youth building. Parents, please join us. Mission trip to Guatemala  Students age 16 and older and their parents are invited to attend an interest meeting for Good Shepherd's intergenerational mission trip to Guatemala.  The meeting will be held at 5:30pm on Sunday, September 25 in room 125.  Come and learn about this exciting oppotunity.

Singers and Actors Wanted
Hello GS Youth.  The Children's Choir would like to extend an invitation to you to join together in presenting a Christmas Pageant called "Fact or Fiction".  This pageant will be offered on Sunday, December 4th at 3:00 p.m., with rehearsals on Sunday from 1 - 3, and if you're able, on Sunday morning from 10:45 - 11:45.  The kick-off meeting and first rehearsal will be on September 18th at 1:00 p.m.  We're excited about the opportunity to work with you and hope you'll consider joining us.  Should you have any questions, please contact Michael Mercatante  or by phone at 804-241-2421.  You my also

Urgent Need! 
Two adults are needed each week to be present with Mark and Linette for Sunday morning Bible study.  Parents can sign up here to volunteer.  All volunteers are asked to complete our Safe Sanctuaries forms, which are provided by the church office.  No preparation is required, just come and hang out with us as we study God's word together

FUEL Student Ministries is the youth ministry program of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.  All students in grades 6-12 are invited to participate in FUEL programs.

FUEL Sunday morning Bible study meets year round at 9:30 am in the youth building.  There is a high school class and a middle school class.  PopTarts and great discussion are included in the lesson plan.

FUEL Sunday evening worship meets at 6:30 pm during the school year.  A simple meal, fun and meaningful worship are always a part of the program.

FUEL missions offers week long, hands-on mission opportunities during the summer months.  Mission days are also offered during the school year, usually on public school holidays.  FUEL missions is also an active participant in Good Shepherd's CARITAS ministry.
