URGENT - We Need Your Support!
OCC Letter to Premier Wynne On The Subject Of
Changing The Comparability Rules Under The ORPP
The government of Ontario is currently in its final stages of designing the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan. The Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) continues to support the government's policy objective - to ensure that all Ontarians are adequately prepared for their retirement.
On August 11th, 2015, Premier Wynne announced that the government is changing the comparability rules under the ORPP. Following a letter to the Premier in June 2015 on comparability, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce network with the support of a coalition of over 150 businesses & associations, were able to get the government to exempt some defined contribution (DC) pension plans from the ORPP.
The OCC's is proposing a follow up letter. We are trying to move the yardstick again by advocating strongly for government to address the outstanding concerns of the business community. To do so, we need a similar level of support demonstrated by the province's employer community. We are confident that the business community, by coming together to rally behind a common message, will be instrumental in getting the government to move again.
If you support the OCC's position letter to Premier Wynne requesting greater clarity regarding changing the comparability rules under the ORPP, please email Malcolmson at ceo@oshawachamber.com to provide your electronic signature to be included in the proposed letter.
DEADLINE to be included in the submission:
