Dear ,

As the snow flurries begin to fly, we have lots of memories to smile about as we wrap the property up with a bow for the winter.

Thanksgiving and the holidays are upon us. So while we have a moment to reflect on all the great memories made in Maine this summer, we want to say "Thank you" to all of you who made 2013 one of the best years ever, here at Spruce Point.

"The best" is not measured only on the balance sheet. By "best" we also mean new friends made, ever-expanding family gatherings built on special events from weddings to anniversaries to the first vacation with new little ones. Watching a child discover the ocean for the first time is one of the joys of being an innkeeper here.

So we thank you all for that wonderful experience. It keeps us going during the winter and inspires us to keep improving your guest experience and the little details that make us your choice, year after year.

Until we meet again, stay warm, and savor those oceanside memories made in Maine.

Joe and Ange

Spruce Point Inn Gift Certificates

Spruce Point Inn burgee.

In addition to the frosty mornings, we're beginning to see the flyers for local holiday fairs, taped to the windows in the grocery store, tacked up in the post office, marked on hand-written signs outside the school. These fairs have to be the original and best expression of the "Shop Local" movement (before it had a name), filled with hand-crafted items of every color, taste and description.

That got us thinking about Spruce Point and what a holiday craft fair filled with oceanside memories from the year here at the Inn might look like.

We'd have one table laden with spruce boughs, of course. And some hand-picked herbs and wild flowers from our kitchen and butterfly gardens, preserved at the height of their seasons and ready to fill a room or a dream with their scent. The sea breeze in a bottle. And a delicious sampler of everything the chefs dreamed up for Bogie's, 88 and Deck.

Actually - you can wrap all these memories up for your family and friends by selecting a Spruce Point Inn Gift Certificate in presentation packaging as your holiday gift to them. Available in whatever amount you'd like to send. And guaranteed to delight, no matter what "the age, the shape, the size."

More Upgrades

Here at the Inn, the work continues on the checklist we develop all season long as we notice details and imagine 'what if's' to add. No sooner has the last guest departed than we start in on projects to make the experience even better next year.

This winter, Bogie's is receiving a cottage roof just like you experience in our classic "housekeeping cottages", the main kitchen will be renovated and new equipment added to ensure we keep up with the demands of the busy summer season, "Ice Bear" AC units will replace less efficient HVAC as part of our green program to reduce power consumption, the Spa dcor and Spa deck will be renewed as additional options for quiet and privacy for leisure couples, and some new recreational opportunities added (a croquet court and basketball), to name a few.

Watch for updates in the next newsletter and for progress reports and pictures on our Facebook Page. Tracking Spruce Point as we prepare for the 2014 season is one way to get through a cold winter! Before you know, it will be Opening Day.
