Greetings!

Opening day at Spruce Point is May 19, and as if to cheer us on, the sun is shining brightly, the breeze carries the scent of new leaves and spring blossoms and it just seems that everything is sparkling with anticipation.

Each day the lawns and gardens regain their luster, as does the SPI property. Offseason projects are nearing completion and are looking crisp and inviting. The exterior of The Inn is getting painted this week, staff are starting to arrive, orientation begins the 14th and then we reopen on the 19th.

We will continue to share images with you on our Facebook page and hope that you enjoy them.

We'd like to remind you to make reservations soon, if you have not already. It has been very busy this off season and many accommodations are starting to fill.

Search availability through our online system or give us a call 1.800.553.0289.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Best,

Ange and Joe

Chefs join Cellardoor Winery in Kennebunkport Festival Grand Tasting Event June 8th

Chef's Pete and Mark

Chef Peter Stiles and Sous Chef Mark Weinerth are excited about their upcoming opportunity to join our friends at Cellar Door Winery for an event that is perhaps Maine's best and biggest

Celebration of Art, Food, Wine, and Music:

The Kennebunkport Festival, June 4-9, 2013, is produced by our friends at Maine, the Magazine.

Spruce Point is participating in the Cellardoor Grand Tasting on Saturday, June 8, from noon to 4 pm in the Pilot House Boatyard in Kennebunkport. The Tasting is billed as a "grand tapas party featuring 30 chefs and acclaimed wineries under a gorgeous tent on the Kennebunkport River." Winemaker Bettina Doulton, our friend and host of the tastings offered at the nearby Winery, calls it "a carefully-curated grazing party that will change the way you think about food and wine events. Forever."

In addition to the Grand Tasting, the 2013 Festival events include nightly sunset cocktail receptions, intimate gourmet dinners, a gala party, arts shows, a casual outdoor concert and a 5K race on Sunday. It's a perfect reason to come stay with us, chat with Chefs Peter and Mark about their plans for the Tasting and enjoy great food and wine, at the Festival and here at the Inn.

Power meetings at Spruce Point Inn

At the Spruce Point Inn, we invite you to go beyond the traditional meeting itinerary and plan an event that only a true coastal New England venue like ours can offer. Classic lodging and State of the Art Meeting space are available for your next board meeting, executive retreat, or small conference.

Forge shared memories at an old-fashioned lobster bake. Catch the wind aboard an authentic wooden sailing sloop.

Explore team building on

a kayak or bicycling expedition around the islands. Tour the harbor on our motor launch Bright Line. Catch a striper or blue-fish in "Hell's Gate" on the Sheepscott River. Sharpen your competitive spirit with  a company tennis tournament on our Har-Tru clay courts. Even our local golf course inspires challenge because of its natural topography. And, for optional meeting venues, our Recommended Partner - Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens - offers several indoor and outdoor meeting rooms.

We are pleased to introduce you to two new members of the team here at Spruce Point Inn.

Natasha Inosencio is our new Director of Sales. A native to Portland, Maine, Natasha relocated to Brunswick after seven years working in Detroit, MI and San Diego, CA and is now living with her family in their 1850's farm house. Natasha bring more than 16 years of hospitality industry experience in hotels and restaurants across the country, ranging from Neiman Marcus, to Marriott and Hilton properties, to the Inn. She began college at the University of Southern Maine and then transferred to Platt College San Diego, graduating with a degree in Marketing and Design. She then used those skills to start her own business as a Braille transcriber for visually impaired school children. After five years, she went back to the hospitality industry and focused on business and sales. With her background in hotels, it was easy for her to move into a sales manager position, then catering manager for a premiere Portland property. She is a welcome addition to the SPI family!

Justin Erskine is our new Events Manager for the Inn. Justin brings 15 years of experience working in local restaurants, as well as country clubs in Florida and Georgia, to the role.

As a Boothbay native, he is proud to bring his experience back to Maine at Spruce Point Inn.
