Talk Public Policy With Us This Year

January Unit discussions will focus on fracking -- the common term for a technical process used by oil and gas companies in which water, Take Action sand and chemicals are used to break apart gas-bearing shale rock to extract natural gas from deep within the earth. The process is highly controversial with some claiming that it has caused recent earthquakes in Oklahoma, as well as contaminated water sources and will lead to other serious environmental hazards.

February Topic:  Funding, Enforcement and Legal Implications of Water in Oklahoma.

Upcoming event:  Consensus meeting in late-February/early-March - details to come.
