Teacher Appreciation Week - Thank You!!
PIE celebrated our AMHS teachers and staff last week with some much deserved appreciation for all of their hard work for our students. It would not have been possible without the very generous support of the following businesses: The Kickin Chicken Food Truck provided a delicious lunch for the teachers - it was a huge hit with everyone! Abigail McClam and Brian Hoke of Lotus provided chair massages to help relieve some of the end of year stress. Gift certificates were donated from: Elements Massage, Grace Salon Spa, LongHorn Steakhouse, Lotus, North Charleston Performing Arts Center, Patriots Point Links, Stox & Co., Southern Season & SpiritLine Cruises. Please support these businesses that help us support our AMHS staff! The week was also a huge success thanks to the generosity of Magnet families who donated gift cards for the teachers. I would also like to thank the parents who have helped all year with teacher appreciation - Liz Boyles, Ann Burris, CarolJean Carroll, Tiffannie Clifford, Nichole Dalzell, Angela DiPaulo, Christen Hall, Simone Howe, Cheryl Levin, Kimberly Moss, Holly Snyder & Kelly Yost. Your willingness to jump in and help with your time and talents have made my job easy! Sarah Winters, Teacher Appreciation Chair
Thank you to the entire AMHS Community for a fabulous year!
The time has come to say goodbye to our 2015-2016 PIE Board. I was honored to serve with such dedicated people. I want to thank everyone that served on the PIE Board this year and those that jumped in to help in other ways too. Whether it was working at registration, gathering donations for the spring auction, sitting at the front desk, or sending in food for faculty meetings, every action was appreciated. Parent support groups are an integral part of our AMHS Community. We could not succeed without your help!
A special note of thanks to our "graduating" PIE Board members:
Becky Dornish, Sibita Proctor & Debi Rieflin. These ladies have worn many hats over the years and will be greatly missed. Becky's was always a voice of reason on the PIE Board and a faithful attendee to the meetings. Sibita kept our faculty well fed this year and Debi was a mastermind at scheduling the front desk! Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us and we wish you the best.

Soldier's Angels -- Ongoing
Soldier's Angels is a national charity which provides aid and comfort to those who have served in our armed forces and their families. Our organization offers many volunteer opportunities that allow thousands of volunteers to work tirelessly and assist veterans in a variety of exclusive and effective ways.
We are currently recruiting volunteers to work with our veterans within the Ralph A. Johnson Center as Patient Visitors. Our Patient Visitors will provide support to veterans within the hospital through approved visitations and distribution of donated materials. We will work with your students to establish a schedule that allows them to visit the hospital for only a few hours each week, or during one of the special events we will be hosting this year. Students will be responsible for maintaining a log of their hours.
