The Student Perspective... by Jennie Schaaf
|
The Riverdogs took all of Magnet out to the ballgame last Friday for an evening filled with school spirit, peanuts, and fireworks. The festivities began around 6:00 when the Dirty Birds started their hour-long performance. As people came up to the stadium, they congregated in the area between the half-circle of drums and jump castles, forming a large group of members of the Magnet family
who reached out to the other spectators as they arrived. The first pitch was thrown by none other than our own principal, Judith Peterson, and undoubtedly caused the catcher to tremble in fear of her throw. The game stretched on for several hours and Magnet students and staff watched together as the ninth inning ended, resulting in a loss for the Riverdogs. What followed was a mass exo dus to the outfield where spectators viewed an incredible fireworks display as the seniors watched collectively from behind home plate. The night was truly another example of the fun the Magnet family likes to enjoy together and the value of spending an evening cheering on America's sport with friends and family.
