THE RAPTOR REPORT
Tonya McIntyre honored as CCSD Teacher of the Month

Today Tonya McIntyre was named CCSD Teacher of the Month. She was nominated by a parent who cited Ms. McInytre's love of teaching and her commitment to her students' understanding of math and development as young adults. Her students echoed the parent's compliments. We are all very excited for Ms. McIntyre.
Principal Points: May

Believe it or not, there are only 5 1/2 judith  weeks remaining until the Class of 2014 graduates on June 4, 2014, and the days will fly by.  I included a schedule of the final events in the April Principal Points, and I will include it again at the close of the updates.

First and foremost, on behalf of all the faculty and staff at AMHS, THANK YOU for a memorable Teacher Appreciation Week. Your generosity and kindnesses are truly remarkable and appreciated by all of us. We love sharing our days with your students, and your gift cards, notes, breakfast and lunch were wonderful reminders that we work in a very special community. THANK YOU!!!

As we prepare also for the 2014 - 2015 school year, I want to alert you to the fact that we will be required again to collect and validate information on students' residences. Please begin to gather the following items: a property tax bill if you own your home; a lease agreement if you are renting, a contract if you are building; a copy of a water bill, a cable bill, a power bill, a phone bill (not cell); a signed and notarized affidavit affirming that you and your student live at the Charleston County address listed. Specific details will come home with the final report cards and will appear on our website, but I want you to be preparing for this "address verification" process.

This school year has been a successful one, and I hope that each student and faculty/staff member will remember the year as a positive and purposeful one. As we come to its close, please let us know if there are any questions or concerns that you may have.  We want to continue our efforts to maintain the academic excellence and the sense of community associated with AMHS.

Thank you for your support this year; we look forward to the 2014-2015 school year with optimism and a strong sense of purpose.

A PIE Auction Committee Shout-Out for "Full Code Entertainment"

Our Auction Committee was very impressed with the wonderful company who acted as our DJ for the Auction last month, and wanted to share information about this professional with our members. Keep this reference in mind for your next event; he would be great for a graduation party!

Full Code Entertainment is owned and operated by Ken Bellamy, a professional, personable and honestly the best DJ that any of us have been associated with. He arrived early and set up his amazing sound system; providing our set up crew with great tunes that energized us as we worked. He played terrific music throughout the evening, at the perfect volume and free of the "uncensored lyrics" that are sometimes heard at events. For more information visit his website at: www.fullcodeentertainment.com
