W elcome to the 2013 - 2014 school year!! AMHS comes alive with energetic students, faculty and staff beginning August 12th for the teachers and August 21st for students, and I am confident that this will be a very special year for us.
There are several important adjustments that have been made at AMHS, and I would like to remind everyone of them:
School start time is now 8:10 AM!! Students should plan to arrive at school by 8:00 AM. This adjustment was made to accommodate longer break times between periods 1 and 2 and 2 and 3, and the longer break will allow students the opportunity to access restrooms, to speak with teachers, and to enjoy a more leisurely walk with classmates to the next class.
School dress code has adjusted the cutoff for shorts and skirts to mid-thigh, and shirts must have a shoulder width of at least 3 inches. I realize that these adjustments may seem tough, but AMHS is a community of boys and girls, men and women, and everyone is entitled to feel comfortable and able to focus on the academic experiences offered. Students with clothing not in compliance with the CCSD and AMHS dress code may be given appropriate clothing items for the day and asked to return them washed and ready for someone else.
Arrival/Dismissal: With the large number of cars and buses entering and leaving the Bonds-Wilson Campus within a short time period, we have established very clear traffic patterns. Please, take note of the accompanying document describing the traffic patterns designed to move traffic efficiently and to keep all drivers safe.
Again, we are ready for an outstanding year and eager to continue strengthening the academic program at AMHS. Thank you for your support!

Principal, AMHS
