Principal Points
|
Believe it or not, there are only 5 1/2 weeks remaining until the Class of 2013 graduates on June 6, 2013, and the days will fly by. I included a schedule of the final events in the April Principal Points, and I will include it again at the close of the updates.
First and foremost, on behalf of all the faculty and staff at AMHS, THANK YOU for a memorable Teacher Appreciation Week.Your generosity and kindnesses are truly remarkable and appreciated by all of us. We love sharing our days with your students, and your gift cards, notes, breakfast and lunch were wonderful reminders that we work in a very special community. THANK YOU!!!
As we prepare also for the 2013 - 2014 school year, I want to alert you to the fact that we will be required again to collect and validate information on students' residences. Please begin to gather the following items: a property tax bill if you own your home; a lease agreement if you are renting, a contract if you are building; a copy of a water bill, a cable bill, a power bill, a phone bill (not cell); a signed and notarized affidavit affirming that you and your student live at the Charleston County address listed. Specific details will come home with the final report cards and will appear on our website, but I want you to be preparing for this "address verification" process.
This school year has been a successful one highlighted by the #10 ranking by US News and World Report, and I hope that each student and faculty/staff member will remember the year as a positive and purposeful one. As we come to its close, please let us know if there are any questions or concerns that you may have. We want to continue our efforts to maintain the academic excellence and the sense of community associated with AMHS.
Thank you for your support this year; we look forward to the 2013-2014 school year with optimism and a strong sense of purpose.

I encourage you to check the AMHS Website calendar and to call the office if you have a question about any activity.
See you at one or more of the athletic competitions, year-end activities, or at the graduation. Thanks for your continued support of our efforts to offer the best possible academic program we can for our students.
