AMHS FACULTY & STAFF! WE APPRECIATE YOU!
|
You, too, can be PIE President...or Vice President!!!
|
PIE is currently looking for nominees for all elected PIE Offices. While Cheryl Roberts (Secretary), Sharon Beeson (Treasurer), and Brenda Rindge (At Large Member) have all agreed to stay on another year, any PIE member is able to nominate themselves if they would like to be on the ballot for these offices.
The BIG needs are for the PIE President and Vice President. Four out of five of this year's PIE officers work full time outside the home, and I think it's safe to say we had a successful year at PIE, so you can do it, too!
AMHS PIE is special in that we have a huge cadre of active parents and committee chairs, so much of the work of the PIE President is pure delegation to a very competent parent population. PIE meetings are monthly during the school year. The only qualification for being an officer is that you are a member of PIE. You can read the duties for all offices in the PIE Bylaws.
Elections will be via a Raptor Report email in May, with the new officers starting July 1. If you are interested, or want to nominate someone, please contact Nominating Committee Chair Cheryl Roberts at cheryllr@aol.com.

AMHS's #1 ranked soccer teams need your support!
|
The Raptor soccer teams have a combined 29-2 record this season, both are ranked #1 in the 2A classification and this week both teams face two powerful 4A opponents! On Wednesday both teams host the Wando Warriors! The 18-1 Lady Raptors take on the 8-1 Lady Warriors at 5:30pm. The Lady Raptors are the #1 ranked 2A team in the state and the Lady Warriors are the #2 ranked 4A team. Following that game, the 11-1 Raptors take on the 15-0 Warriors at 7:30pm. The Raptors are the #1 ranked 2A team while the Warriors are the #1 ranked 4A team and are currently ranked #1 in the nation in the NSCCA spring poll.
Following this, the Raptors return to the field on Friday night for an exciting evening! Friday features a home doubleheader versus 4A opponent Beaufort. In addition to the game, Friday is the annual trifecta game of "Senior Night", "Alumni Appreciation Night" and "Future Raptor Night". If you know of someone who has been accepted to AMHS or who is considering AMHS, invite them out to this game so they can interact with other future Raptors in the environment of a fun and exciting soccer game! Admission is only $5. AMHS soccer would like to thank Ian Grimshaw and The Dirty Birds for once again performing on this special night. If you have never seen/heard them play, you are in for a treat!
AMHS soccer plays home games at St. Andrews Middle School in West Ashley. The address of the school is 721 Wappoo Road; however, we use the large parking lot behind the school at the intersection of Dulsey Road and Blitchridge Road.

AMHS girls varsity soccer team having a great season this year
| The AMHS girls varsity soccer team is having a great season this year! The team participated in the Viking Cup tournament held in Columbia earlier in the season and made it to the finals, which was quite an accomplishment. The championship game was against Riverside High School, the #1 ranked 4A team in the state, and after two overtime periods and a round of penalty kicks, the team finished strong in second place. The team posts an overall record of 18-1 and a conference record of 7-0. Earlier this month, the team played in the Mauldin Cup held in Greenville and won the tournament defeating Christ Church, Hillside and Mauldin High School in the championship game. There are only four games remaining in the season before playoffs begin in May. Please support the team tonight, April 24th, as they host Wando High School at 5:30 p.m. The boys varsity team will be playing Wando as well at home at 7:00 p.m. Your support of both teams is appreciated! Best of luck to both teams as they approach the end of their exciting seasons!
