Dear Parents and Friends of AMHS,
As we are all aware, the capstone to the AMHS academic experience is the senior thesis. As the school has grown and matured, the challenge to fulfill students' needs for mentors has become more and more difficult (especially considering the wide variety of thesis subjects and the needs for mentors for other academic pursuits such as Science Fair and Robotics Projects). The School Improvement Council (SIC) is working with the Senior Thesis Coordinators to support the process of matching a student with a mentor by creating a Senior Thesis Resource Database of possible mentors and area experts. The Senior Thesis Coordinators could then utilize this database after the students have put forward the topic of their thesis.
Please know that we are not asking each person for a commitment to be a mentor. You can also help by referring students to possible mentors, or by serving as an additional resource. We all know how busy it can be being the parent of a Magnet student. Perhaps you have a colleague whose children are already off to college or grown who would enjoy sharing their expertise and working with a student to provide direction and feedback on the student's project or thesis. If so, please forward this email and ask that person to complete the survey.
We ask that you please consider adding your name to the
Senior Thesis Resource Database by providing a small amount of information through this survey link:

Thank you for your time!
