Sharing Is Sweet!
|
Two girls in Junior Troop 107 were wondering what they could do to help with the SHARE campaign. After all, they were having such a great time in Girl Scouts they wanted every girl to have this same experience!
It just so happened that their leader was having a garage sale - making this the perfect opportunity for these girls to clean out their closets. For several days, the girls sorted through shoes, clothes, and toys, finding an amazing number of items to sell. Additionally, they set up a lemonade stand complete with cookies and brownies. Little did they know that at the end of two days, they would have made $300 to donate to SHARE, providing financial assistance for 20 more girls to become Girl Scouts just like them!
On Sept. 11, Demi and Darian presented a check to the council, excited to know that they 'shared', so other girls can have the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Thanks for showing us all how easy it is to SHARE!
This is just one of many ideas you, your service unit or your troop can do to contribute to SHARE.
Take the challenge - start today!
For more information about the SHARE contest and fundraising ideas, check out our website.

| Fall Product Sales Update
October is a BUZZY
and exciting month for troops! In addition to getting settled into regularly scheduled troop meetings and activities, our troops are also preparing to submit orders for the Fall Product Program.
Don't miss out on one of the easiest opportunities to earn funds for your troop. Nut and candy orders are scheduled to arrive in November, just before Thanksgiving. Make sure your troop is on target to turn in all necessary paperwork and receive the products. Each troop's Fall Product Manager should contact the Service Unit Fall Program Manager for details and important dates specific to your service unit.

Welcoming All Girls
| Girl Scout Troops are large enough to provide a cooperative learning environment, and small enough to allow for development of individual girls. Recommended troop sizes are:
- Girl Scout Daisies: 5-12 girls
- Girl Scout Brownies: 10-20 girls
- Girl Scout Juniors: 10-25 girls
- Girl Scout Cadettes: 5-25 girls
- Girl Scout Seniors: 5-30 girls
- Girl Scout Ambassadors: 5-30 girls
Troop Leaders and Committees are expected to welcome girls into their troop until it has met the maximum listed above. If a troop is at capacity, staff and Service Unit Teams will work to quickly find troop placement opportunities for girls. Please do not create a "wait list" or "close" your troop to new members before it has reached the recommended maximum.
Troops are not organized to mirror a specific classroom or neighborhood, but should reflect the full diversity of the girl population at that program level. For example, a Brownie Girl Scout Troop will welcome all second and third grade girls until they reach the recommended troop maximum.
GSGC is dedicated to inclusion and committed to serving all girls. Every girl should have the opportunity to participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience as soon as possible - without delay or discrimination.
