Thank you so much to Lauren Schmetterling from the 2016 gold medal winning US Women's 8 and Jeanne Flanagan from the 1984 gold medal winning US Women's 8 for sharing their experiences with everyone! International Olympic Committee Sponsors Visiting Coach from Uruguay
Lucia Ribeiro

CRI has the distinct pleasure of welcoming a visiting coach from Uruguay, Lucía Ribeiro, our community starting next week. Lucía will be spending time as part of the Institute for Rowing Leadership (IRL) at CRI as well as with many of the CRI programs during her time at the boathouse from October 3rd - 26th as she develops her coaching skills and learns more about how to build a robust community of rowers.

Lucía's training at CRI is funded by the International Olympic Committee and World Rowing as a way to develop leadership amongst coaches and build participation in countries with developing rowing populations. This program is the first of it's kind in rowing and highlights CRI's role as the standard bearer in developing professional coaches through the IRL.

Please welcome Lucía to our community as you see here around the boathouse in the coming weeks. A brief bio and photo is below.

Athlete Housing HOCR
HOCR Requesting Volunteers

It is that time of year again already. Entries are posted, and the HOCR office has a list of international rowers who need a place to stay. The current list involves several Olympians, including many medallists, as well as some coaches and some athletes not yet to Olympic standard.

Rowers will generally arrive Tuesday the 18th or Wednesday the 19th of October, and leave Sunday or Monday. We are only requesting that you provide a room, and anything in the way of food is really up to what your comfort level is.

Athletes will not have cars, so houses walking distance to the course or the T (bus or subway) are particularly needed.

If you have a room or spaces and would like to host a rower or two for a few days, please get in touch with Michelle Jaeger via email at mjaegs@gmail.com.

Best,

Michelle Jaeger & Anne Buckingham
