Find out the different ways to volunteer with the team by contacting Assistant Director of Outreach, Kate Smith, and if you know any 7th-12th grade Boston Public School students or families get them to sign up at www.communityrowing.org/programs/signup for the Oct. 11-15th Novice Welcome Week! No cost to join. No experience necessary. Transportation provided.

CRI Blood Drive
Friday, September 9
|
Blood drive at CRI on Friday September 9 - Please pledge to participate!
You never know when a friend, family member, co-worker or fellow rower might need blood. Unfortunately one of our long time rowing friends, Mohammed Jafri, recently succumbed to Multiple Myeloma. This disease is a cancer of the bone marrow and requires a lot of blood for treatment. The CRI community will be honoring Mohammed by sponsoring a blood drive on Friday September 9th on the second floor of CRI. Please pledge to show your support. "When I started treatment, it was truly eye opening to see how much people with blood cancers rely on transfusions. There is an enormous need for blood for these diseases and many others. For my illness (technically Multiple Myeloma, which is similar to Leukemia - not sure about the exact differences), I've had to go through countless transfusions just to keep my hemoglobin counts barely normal." - Mohammed Jafri May 26, 2016 Please let us know if will participate by filling out a pledge sheet will at the CRI front desk, or you can indicate your interest by signing up electronically at HERE. Pledging shows intent and we realize that travel or illness may change your ability to donate. Knowing how many people pledge helps us organize equipment and staff for the donation. We will contact you by e-mail to sign-up for a specific time. This way you can best plan your day around your donation time.

Blood Drive Volunteers Needed
Friday, September 9th
|
A few volunteers are needed to help out at the blood drive being hosted here at the boathouse this coming Friday. The Red Cross will be providing a volunteer, but a few more hands are always helpful. No specific skills are needed. Volunteers can be people who have just donated, or are about to donate, or people that are not donating. If you are available to help, please contact Paul Flack. Any time you could give would be helpful. Thank you!
