Waterski Behind a Crew Shell?
Hingham High School Video
|
The Hingham High School Rowing Team pulled off an amazing feat with their 8 man crew shell. Using only human power they pulled their coxswain across the entire Hingham Harbor on waterskis! Check out this short video:
| Hingham High School Rowing Video |
Hingham High School Rowing has also put out a challenge to Stanford University for the Head of the Charles Regatta this fall. They want to line up head to head to see who can pull a waterskier for the longest time behind a crew shell. On myth busters Stanford University did it for 54 seconds http://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/mythbusters/videos/row-skiing-minimyth/Â . Yesterday Hingham High School Rowing pulled the water-skier for 2 minutes and 23 seconds! The Head of the Charles Regatta is the biggest annual rowing event in the world. Over 10,000 rowers and worldwide TV coverage. It would be amazing to see the Hingham High School Rowing Team go against Stanford University in front of that audience. Hopefully Stanford will accept the challenge.

CRI Blood Drive
Friday, September 9
|
Blood drive at CRI on Friday September 9 - Please pledge to participate!
You never know when a friend, family member, co-worker or fellow rower might need blood. Unfortunately one of our long time rowing friends, Mohammed Jafri, recently succumbed to Multiple Myeloma. This disease is a cancer of the bone marrow and requires a lot of blood for treatment. The CRI community will be honoring Mohammed by sponsoring a blood drive on Friday September 9th on the second floor of CRI. Please pledge to show your support. "When I started treatment, it was truly eye opening to see how much people with blood cancers rely on transfusions. There is an enormous need for blood for these diseases and many others. For my illness (technically Multiple Myeloma, which is similar to Leukemia - not sure about the exact differences), I've had to go through countless transfusions just to keep my hemoglobin counts barely normal." - Mohammed Jafri May 26, 2016 Please let us know if will participate by filling out a pledge sheet will at the CRI front desk, or you can indicate your interest by signing up electronically at HERE. Pledging shows intent and we realize that travel or illness may change your ability to donate. Knowing how many people pledge helps us organize equipment and staff for the donation. We will contact you by e-mail to sign-up for a specific time. This way you can best plan your day around your donation time.
