CRI Has a New Location
CRI Newton

CRI has a new location. Set on the tranquil Upper Charles River, The Stoller Boathouse is part of the Lasell College Campus. It will be known internally as CRI Newton.

A unique partnership between Lasell College and Community Rowing that provides long term accommodation to Brandeis University and Nobles and Greenough School has developed a program to give the communities surrounding the boathouse the chance to row and to become part of the CRI Community.

With a new fleet of boats provided by Lasell College, Community Rowing is establishing a summer program of activities for all ages and of all abilities, with a focus on Middle School Sculling. Community Rowing will manage the boathouse and program the activities around the existing users from Lasell, Brandeis and Nobles and Greenough.

We are currently working on new boat racks and safe, secure storage for a new fleet of Hudson's and WinTech boats. Once delivered, programming will begin.

The agreement with Lasell College is the result of many months of work from the leadership teams of all of the institutions involved and will help both organizations to maximize their reach into the local communities surrounding the boathouse and to deliver safe, fun and exciting programs to a wide range of people. The agreement was signed and exchanged on the 29
th March 2016.

The ERG Marathon
Monday, April 18th

Chased from the sidewalk in front of the Newton Wellesley Hospital after the marathon bombing by security, the erg marathon has found a home at CRI. Come try rowing 42,195 meters alone or as a team with whatever number of people you want to participate on your team.

Start about 9AM and hopefully finish by 2PM. Muffins and coffee in the AM and sandwiches for lunch will be included in the fee which will also support CRI.

The participation fee is $25. It is modest so that all rowers can participate including students. In the past student teams have raced each other. Since this is a fundraiser for CRI.

We will stream live the marathon on the big screen in the erg room so that you will not miss seeing the race. It will also inspire you. And you will not need sunscreen. But bring water bottles to be filled on site.

Date: April 18
Time: 9AM at CRI.

If you are interested in joining the fun of an ERG Marathon, please sign up HERE

#CRIRowStudio Going Strong
 New Mid-Morning Sessions Added

Since we started the #CRIRowStudio in December last year we have had over 250 brand new people come into CRI who have never taken a class before! That is an incredible accomplishment. Normally in the winter we have very few new visitors join us, and these visits to the CRIRrowStudio don't include our current CRI members that have given it a go!

Due to this great success, and on recommendations from some of the members, we are adding mid-morning sessions on Monday & Wednesdays at 9:30am.

Please go to www.mindbodyonline.com to book a session for yourself and then tell all of your friends to do the same!

To read more about drop-in classes at #CRIRowStudio, visit the CRI website Drop-in Rowing page.
