Corporate Rowing Has Begun!
First Team Building Events of the Season

CRI hosts the first corporate event of the year with a Harvard Business School Executive Education Team
Our first team building row of 2016 hosted a diverse group of executives from all over the world. The team of 8 from the US, Italy, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Australia, Mexico and Trinidad were wrapping up their third year together at the HBS Executive Ed program. They were watching rowers row by their HBS classes all week and decided they wanted to try a true Boston rowing experience at CRI. We got them on the water and enjoying the crisp spring day thanks to the help of coach Nigel and four girls from the Novice team; Sofia Garcia, Carolyn Bell, Jules Holland and Elizabeth Keleher. The group thoroughly enjoyed their experience and commented that learning to row together was the best way to build teamwork, and get everyone working together in unison. The eight executives were so impressed with the four novice girl volunteers and their rowing expertise they decided to make an extra donation to the girls competitive program.
#CRIRowStudio at Wellbridge Athletic Club
On Friday morning with the help of Coach Anna Harris and Volunteer/IRL Alumnus Erin McConnell the corporate rowing team hosted two #CRIRowStudio classes in the fitness studio at Wellbridge Athletic Club in Harvard Square. If you've never taken a #CRIRowStudio class before it is a ton of fun. It's even better when you introduce new people to our sport! Thanks to Anna and Erin's help and hard work, the participants from this event are now signing up to be on the Wellbridge Rowing Team, which will compete in the Charles River Rowing League here at CRI starting in May!

#CRIRowStudio Going Strong
New Mid-Morning Sessions Added
|
Since we started the #CRIRowStudio in December last year we have had over 250 brand new people come into CRI who have never taken a class before! That is an incredible accomplishment. Normally in the winter we have very few new visitors join us, and these visits to the CRIRrowStudio don't include our current CRI members that have given it a go!
Due to this great success, and on recommendations from some of the members, we are adding mid-morning sessions on Mondays at 9:30am & Wednesdays at 9:00am.
Please go to www.mindbodyonline.com to book a session for yourself and then tell all of your friends to do the same!
To read more about drop-in classes at #CRIRowStudio, visit the CRI website Drop-in Rowing page.

Rowing Injury Prevention Program
The Micheli Center
|
Several coaches and athletes attended a run through of a novel rowing injury prevention program at the Micheli Center last week. The feedback was very positive. The protocol was developed as a direct result of interactions between CRI staff/athletes, Sara Collins,PT, and Kate Ackerman, MD.
The Micheli Center has agreed to offer classes for CRI, if coaches and their teams are interested. A similar program is in development for para rowing. For more information, please feel free to contact me or the Micheli Center.
Best,
Marilyn
