CRI Women's Comp Team Senior Master's 4+

With a great spread across a variety of events, the Women's Comp Team had a great showing at the 51st Head of the Charles. A very special congratulations to our Senior Master's 4+ (see below), who placed 4th out of 49 boats, and to our awesome coxswain Jenny Sichel, who coxed the US Para National Team in the Mixed Leg/Trunk/Arms 4+ to a new course record and 1st place finish!

With Women's Comp Team rowers, coxswains, and coaches alike in the Masters, Club, Alumni, Adaptive, and Director's Challenge Events, there was plenty of great racing to go around. Congratulations to all and time to start training for HOCR 2016!

News & Updates

On Monday the 19th, CRI hosted US Figure Skating for a team building row.  We had four pairs of pairs skaters training with world championship and Olympic goals with their coaches.  The crew of 8, who was very fit, disciplined and eager to learn mastered the stroke quickly.  They were rowing all eight  right away and rowing with pressure within 30 minutes.  Our head coach for the day, Ariel Handler shared her thoughts on the group, "This was a collaboration amongst fellow athletes that were able to translate the intricacies of their respective sports to master another and come together as a team".  Many thanks to our volunteers who braved the cold morning to ensure the skaters had a good experience: Ella Buitrago, Irene Wong, Debbie Grinnell, Sam Ames, Sarah Kuhn, Bill Dimmick, Eugenia Gillan.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are several corporate rowing events happening over the next few weeks and we have openings for rowers, coxswains and dock assistants. Please click on the individual opportunities and see if you are able to spare an hour or two. You get to not only rack up your volunteer hours but you can help spread the message of CRI's mission 'Rowing for All'. All volunteers get a high viz t-shirt and food!

If you have any questions please email Sharanya Subramanian directly: -sharanya@communityrowing.org.

10/21/15 (Wed) 12:30PM - 4:30PM: Corinthian Events - Sign up here

We have many more events in the works throughout the end of the rowing season, so stay tuned for more opportunities as well.

Special Note: We work closely with Kane and the coaches to make sure that regular programming is not impacted.  These programs keep CRI's veterans, para-rowing, and Let's Row Kids on the water and ergs year round.

See you on the water,
