Karl Harshe
March "Coach of the Month"

CRI is honored and pleased to announce the awarding of a monthly gift and stipend for a deserving CRI Coach to use towards coach training and education in our new "Coach of the Month" recognition program.

This award is made possible thanks to a generous gift given by the family of Sophie Overall in recognition, appreciation and acknowledgement of the impact that the coaching of Veronika Platzer has made in Sophie's life.  Sophie, a senior at Wellesley High School, has rowed for CRI for the past 4 years and has committed to Brown University for the class of 2019.

As this was an unrestricted gift, CRI was able to determine how to best use the funds to serve the CRI Community. Providing coaches with a stipend offers an opportunity for continued education and training. Coaching education is paramount to keeping CRI on the cutting edge of new technologies, equipment, sports medicine advances and other important developments in the sport of rowing.

Congratulations to Karl Harshe for being the March "Coach of the Month"! Whether adult or youth, recreational or competitive, Karl will be familiar to an amazing number of us at CRI. A rower himself and IRL Graduate '13, Karl is Head Coach of the Competitive Novice Boys. He also coaches General Sweeps 2 and CRI Triple P.

We thank Karl for his expertise, dedication and presence around the boathouse!
